About Hobart

Hobart, the capital of Australian province Tasmania, is anything but devilish. Small and charming, Hobart lives by the water. The Derwent River winds through the city, just a few minutes walk from the docks where yachts and fishermen park and work. Fresh, local fish is available in many restaurants, while attractions tend towards the outdoors-y with open-air markets, cruises, and walks up Mt. Wellington is leading the pack.

Port/Bay

Hobart is the capital of Tasmania, the only island state in Australia. Tasmania is far from the Australian mainland, with clean air, fresh seafood and beautiful coastal cities. The natural beauty of Tasmania is infinite, the ancient rainforest, the rolling hills and the magnificent coastal scenery are all in front. It is a paradise for self-driving tour. Half of the island's land is a national park, a protected area and a World Heritage Site.

Observation Deck

Mount Wellington is a high mountain around Hobart. The city of Hobart is built against Mount Wellington and visitors can get a panoramic view of Hobart on the hills. There are many observation decks at different heights on the mountain. The Sunlit Platform on the top of the mountain is a good place to overlook the entire Hobart city, the bay nearby and the South Pole. Mount Wellington is also a good destination for hiking and cycling.

Historical Site

The fort is a highland ground that is a very old part of Hobart. The name of the turret started once the turret was constructed in 1818, and the turret protected Hobart from the threat of the sea. During the busy days of whaling, the fort was a bustling area, and the crew was in constant flux. The current fort is a secluded high-end residential area, still seen in the last century Victorian architecture and Georgian mansion. There are a lot of antique shops, galleries and cafes that have been created from old houses.
