    History Preserved

A walk into the past, with a very real sense of history. These houses are still occupied today (an upscale neighbourhood), so it's like experiencing the past in the present.

    Great Walk

Found this a really enjoyable and interesting walk. We stopped at Jackman and McRoss for our coffee. Lots to see and do.

    Frustrating

This was a great idea let down by the execution. If you don't have the leaflet it is impossible to walk the trail backwards as all the information as to where the next point is only goes in one direct...

    Not worth the bother

If you want to drag yourself up and down some steep hills to look at some ‘sculpted’ digits of little artistic merit and less imagination then this is the tour for you.

    Interesting walk

Good walk along the coastline and through residential areas. We couldn't find one of the sculptures but enjoyed deciding which of the lovely houses we would like to live in!

Additional Information

Introduction

The fort is a highland ground that is a very old part of Hobart. The name of the turret started once the turret was constructed in 1818, and the turret protected Hobart from the threat of the sea. During the busy days of whaling, the fort was a bustling area, and the crew was in constant flux. The current fort is a secluded high-end residential area, still seen in the last century Victorian architecture and Georgian mansion. There are a lot of antique shops, galleries and cafes that have been created from old houses.
