A calm haven in a very busy cityThis restaurant has become a favorite of mine while visiting Kowloon. Located at the back of the Hullet House in the Heritage 1881 complex, it is calm and peaceful. There is both indoor and outdoor seating but it is realatively small so reservations are recommended. On each visit I have found just what I wanted for dinner despite the menu being somewhat limited. The service is excellent and Eric the manager is charming and gracious. Although somewhat pricey, the food has not disappointed. I can especially recommend the steak which is served with black garlic, something Ive never seen anywhere else. If you go, be sure to allow time to wander around the property as it is a lovely setting.
An all-round excellent experienceService was excellent, food was excellent and ambience was excellent! We had the steaks, desserts and wine, it is not cheap but they do have cheaper options of pizza and pasta. Recommend booking. The setting is lovely, it can take a little while to find so give yourself time! The 1881 Heritage grounds of which the restaurant is located is a great place to wander around either before or after the meal.
Stables Grill - my favourite steak houseStables Grill located in the historical Hotel - Hullett House.I was sitting outside the restaurant with extremely nice weather.Compliment to Noble for the selection of wine and service. Food excellent, nice to serve with black garlic.Highly recommend to book and looking forward to my next dining there.
Restaurant ran out of rib eye and all kind of oysters on a 8pm Tuesday night. Food is good, but managers have to step it up
Go up stairsLocated in the beautiful 1881 Heritage Complex (one block from the Kowloon Star Ferry Pier) is the Stables Grill. I have not eaten there but above it is their Whiskey House Bar. This is a real find. It has a great selection of whiskeys and a truly wonderful atmosphere. Old photos of Hong Kong on the walls, Leather chairs and couches. It invites you to sit back and sip.
The food is a little pricey, but it's really good quality. The desserts here are a little.... And the service is just awful.
Fabulous location, shame about the prices and portion sizesSituated inside the old horse stables of Hullett House with views over the white-stucco colonnades and sweeping lawns, the Stables Grill was the choice of a local resident for my last lunch on this trip to HK.Stunning location and building, very popular with weddings and its easy to see why. After a 25 walk through the heat and humidity I was starving, as was my friend. Not the most extensive of menus, indeed it was a little on the short side, but just enough to give a couple of options. Sadly both our first choices were no longer available so I ended up with the calamari starter and Caesar salad. The calamari was ly chewy and oily with more batter than seafood. Small portion also. The Caesar salad, whilst tasty, was ridiculously small. Had it been an entree it may have almost been ok but for a main course it was frankly not acceptable. My friend enjoyed the sardines, salmon, churros but we both agreed that the portion...
Charming little chill spot with a nice garden setting in the front, feel like you are in somewhere of a foreign european country!
