Golden Bauhinia Square, Golden Bauhinia Square, landmarks ~ no tickets. It is located in the Expo Waterfront Garden at the Xinji Waterfront of the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center. The sculpture "Bauhinia in bloom forever" stands on the square. It was established to commemorate the return of Hong Kong to the motherland in 1997. The Golden Bauhinia Square is located on an artificial island in the new wing of the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center. It is surrounded on three sides by the Victoria Harbour. It is in the center of the Victoria Harbour and faces Tsim Sha Tsui on the opposite bank. It is a good place for viewing.
Next to the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center, it is a gift from the motherland to Hong Kong to celebrate the return of Hong Kong. Standing on the shore, you can see the beautiful Victorian scenery. There is a light show opposite at 8 o'clock in the evening. The lights are rippling and colorful. There is a blooming golden bauhinia in the middle of the square, which symbolizes the everlasting prosperity of Hong Kong.
This is a historical site where Hong Kong was returned to China in 1997. You can also go shopping in the mall and view the ceremony at 6pm.
An interesting stop while you are touring around Hong Kong. It is best if though find out about the history beforehand.
