Honningsvag, the northernmost point of continental Europe
Honningsvag is the first landing point for our cruise journey and the first stop after entering Norway, where the Atlantic warm currents and the icy waters of the Arctic Ocean are here. Convergence, the average temperature in winter is minus 3 degrees Celsius, which is very warm compared to the polar environment here. Therefore, although Honningsvag is under heavy snow, it is not cold at all, and the temperature is around zero. We didn't have an umbrella, we didn't have any Raiders, and we didn't even watch the mobile map navigation. We walked to the depths of the town.
The roadside buildings that were originally bright and colorful, were taken away by the sky with most of the saturation. On the road, apart from our guests who came down from the boat, away from the streets and alleys, there were no people, and there were no shops open for business. The whole town was quiet like an empty city, full of pure white. The end of the world is a cold wonderland, it is here.
The snow is getting bigger and bigger, we have a very serious snow in Norway. Every step we take is cautious, and because of this, we have not missed any scenery along the way. Here you can see that the local people's life wisdom in order to fight against the extreme natural environment here, the cute snow shovels, the snow scooters, make people smile.
Square huts are always the standard for many European port towns, as is the case with Honnings Vogel. Although it looks as ordinary as other towns, we are coming across thousands of mountains, and in our eyes it is so special.
