If you happen to be going to the Mutianyu Great Wall
The autumn scenery of Mutianyu is really!! Stunning!! It's like a palette has been knocked over, a visual feast~
🚌Transportation:
Book your tickets one day in advance, search 🔍 'Beijing Tourism Distribution Center' on Xiao🍊Xu, round-trip tickets are 80. The next day, take the subway to Qianmen Subway Station, the pick-up point for the Beijing Tourism Distribution Center is opposite the E3 exit.
✨Experience sharing:
Buses depart continuously from 7-10 in the morning, and depart when full. There are return buses from 1-4 in the afternoon, which also depart continuously. Each bus from the distribution center is equipped with a tour guide, who will give a detailed introduction to the differences between Mutianyu and Badaling, as well as the recommended way to play in Mutianyu. It's very convenient to buy tickets directly on the bus, saving the need to take a shuttle bus. You can buy water on the bus, two bottles for 5 yuan, and a bottle of water on the Great Wall costs 10 yuan~
🍲Dining options:
There is a Yisonglou Restaurant at the entrance, where you can order meals. Two people ordered two dishes and two bowls of rice, and the average cost per person is just over fifty. The stir-fried meat with chestnut mushrooms is delicious!
🌿Tour suggestions:
West Line: Enemy towers No. 14-20, there is a cable car, one-way 100, round-trip 140~ The 20th enemy tower is the highest point of the open area, and the Hero Slope is here, the scenery is very beautiful~
East Line: Enemy towers No. 1-6, there are cable cars and slides, one-way 100, round-trip 140~ The terrain is relatively low and flat, the scenery is said to be slightly inferior, but the main advantage is speed and passion.
Middle Line: Enemy towers No. 6-14.
‼️The cable car and the ropeway slide are operated by two separate companies, so they can only be ordered separately~ The cable car goes up to the 14th enemy tower, the ropeway goes up to the 6th enemy tower, and the slide slides down from the 6th enemy tower. If time, physical strength and economy permit, you can choose double cable and double slide.
We chose the West Line, took the cable car up and down, climbed from No. 14 to No. 19, and it wasn't too tiring to walk and rest. The main reason is that we went to the Summer Palace, Universal, and the Forbidden City three days before climbing the Great Wall, and our feet were almost worn out, so we didn't make it to the 20th enemy tower, and only climbed to the Hero Slope. Including the time for taking pictures, the total play time is 3 hours.
We left for the return journey at three o'clock in the afternoon, arrived back in the city at around four thirty, had a roast meat skewer, and then went to see the night view of the Bird's Nest~

Yanqihu Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Apr)
Yanqi lake day trip
We had a wonderful day trip to Yanqi lake. It took us less than 1.5 hours to drive there on a weekday. I have been wanting to go to the Sunrise Kempinski building for years as it looks so cool and I have seen it many times while driving past it. Finally I made it. It’s actually super nice to see it from the side that is pointing towards the lake. We enjoyed a buffet lunch at the Element restaurant of the second floor of the hotel. A variety of different foods to choose from. After spending some time at the hotel we rented bikes and did a bike tour around the area. Very professional bikes and the bike renters even provided us with two guides and a medical person as we came in a group of 30 people. After biking for about an hour or so we ended our trip at Yanqi hotel where we had dinner at the restaurant called lake palace. Amazing food and the hotel looks fantastic from what we saw of the views of the lake and amazing lobby area. Next time I would love to come here for an afternoon tea.

💁🏼♀️ If you are tired of crazy fast life of Beijing this place is a perfect choice.
📍 风车广场,Huairou district, Beijing city.
💰 I am not not sure about the price since I didn’t book.
🏃♀️ It also has a big field, you can take a walk or run or play. I saw children playing football.
🎢 No attractions nearby, no shops, very few restaurants. But it’s close to Yanqi river. You won’t be feeling bored but I think 2-3 days are enough. A well planned weekend is enough.

Lakeside Great Wall
It is quite rare to see the inner section of Great Wall which is more of an additional protection to both dead💀 and alive, in the past. Yes, the Huanghuacheng (黄花城) section of Great Wall was built during Ming dynasty to protect further invasion from North. Also there are kings🤴 who have built mausoleum in here, which the wall protects. Although the main purpose of Wall 🧱 is security, it also has provided a scenic view combining both lake and mountain. This is more of a wild section of Great Wall where you can do some hiking; which after 5 hours will lead you to Mutianyu section. Thus section acts as a connectivity between other sections of the Wall. We did a hiking🥾 of three hours then returned back. Be sure to have your own sanitary things and food, as it is tough to buy around here. Otherwise, it is really a fun trip !! 🥳 #couplestrip #greatwallofchina #hiking

The Great Wall - Lakeside
One of the sections of the Great Wall that is obviously by the lake. Some of the portions of the wall are already submerged after a long time. It is a nice place to go since you can enjoy walking up and down the mountains and also have a nice view of the lake.

Being one of the seven wonders of the world, the Great Wall of China (长城) is the second most visited wonders, after the Effiel Tower in Paris. If at all you are looking for a short vacation and you're new to China, then I would suggest this is the place to start with. As the Great Wall is quite long, there are different sections of it that people love it. But especially, during any holidays even be it a weekend, the most famous ones like Badaling and Mutianyu are too much crowded as it is a must visit for the local tourists coming from different provinces. So it's always better to take an offbeat destination, where the beauty of it is serene and calm. In fact, I felt the whole section of that Great Wall is mine haha.
So here's an isolated section named as Huang hua cheng(黄花城), you have to drive a little bit away from Beijing. Just putting up in Baidu would help, but we hired a car to go and come back on that day; as we also planned to go for an early hike to see the sunrise over the Great Wall which is once in a lifetime experience. If there's anything that you can squeeze in a 3 day trip, taking this offbeat path is a totally worthy one. P.S. As it is not maintained as tourist places, have your own sanitary and snacks/water stuffs. Have a great vacation guys !! #qingmingtravel #beijingtravel #greatwall

Hongluo Temple Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Apr)
Gingko leaves 🍂 in Beijing
#fallingseason
Late October is the best time to see the autumn colors of the ginkgo trees in Hongluo temple in Huairou. It’s an experience to see the temple area itself but the temple is also surrounded by mountains so you can go for a hike as well.
Autumn season have amazing colors and the highlight this time was the duo ginkgoes in the yard after visiting the Hall of heavenly kings. The trees are said to be standing here for over 1000 years and are about 30 meters tall.
📍 we took the express bus 916 from Dongzhimen station to Huairou bus station, then we took a DiDi from there

Hongluo Temple, it is said that the child is the most effective, haha, the most romantic thing to climb is to have a child together.
The temple was built in the four years of the Eastern Jin Dynasty (AD 338), formerly known as "Da Ming Temple" (the Ming Dynasty orthodox year renamed "protecting the state of Fufu Temple", because of the beautiful legend of the red snail fairy, commonly known as "red Luo Temple").
Hongluo Temple is facing the south and is built according to the mountain. The layout is rigorous and imposing. It is backed by Hongluo Mountain, Nanzhao Hongluo Lake, mountain ring water, forest trees, ancient trees towering.
Hongluo Temple is located in the thousands of acres of green pine forest in front of the Hongluo Mountain, forming a beautiful picture of the "Bibo Tibetan Ancient Temple".
Undoubtedly, one of the most exquisite temples in Beijing! It is said that wishes made by women here are extraordinarily efficacious!
I hereby declare—Hongluo Temple is the most exquisite temple in all of Beijing! There is simply no comparison!
Previously, when one mentioned Hongluo Temple, the mind would instantly conjure images of the vast expanse of red leaves in late autumn and the two ancient golden ginkgo trees.
However, during my inaugural summer visit, I was utterly astounded by the photographic aesthetics hidden within the temple~
Who could have imagined, a vibrant wall of bougainvillea blossoming in the heart of the temple, one might mistake it for a classical Chinese garden if not informed otherwise.
Bougainvillea is a rare sight in the northern regions, especially such a grand waterfall of bougainvillea flowers, it is truly a unique spectacle in Beijing.
The blooming period of bougainvillea in Hongluo Temple is quite long, almost visible throughout the four seasons.
The tranquil bamboo grove, the delicate flowers, and the verdant lawn, every snapshot is a potential masterpiece!
During the current season, the most beautiful and soft light for photography on the flower wall is after 16:00 in the afternoon.
I recommend that you can first visit the temple for blessings, and after 16:00, when there are fewer tourists, it's the perfect time to return to the flower wall for photography.
Ladies can also bring various props, such as classical Chinese fans and paper umbrellas; modern style camping chairs, bouquets, and straw hats are also a great match~
There is an old saying in Beijing: "Men to Yonghe and women to Hongluo", meaning men go to Yonghe Palace for blessings, and women go to Hongluo Temple for blessings.
This saying is quite famous in Beijing's Buddhist prayer culture, especially as it is said that praying for marriage and children at Hongluo Temple is particularly effective~
Whether the legend is true or not, women will have to try for themselves, but I can assure you, it's guaranteed that girls can take beautiful photos at Hongluo Temple!
Attraction Address: No. 2 Hongluo East Road, Huairou District, Beijing
Transportation: Drive to the third parking lot of Hongluo Temple, about an hour's drive from the city
Attraction Tickets: ¥54 per person, slide ticket one-way ¥80, round trip ¥100
Operating Hours: 08:30-17:00, quiet garden at 17:30.

Erguotoujiu Museum Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Apr)
Visit the Red Star Erguotou Liquor Museum
Beijing's famous Red Star Erguotou liquor is the first state-owned distillery established after the founding of New China, and is as old as the republic itself, having been established in May 1949 as the experimental factory of the North China Liquor Monopoly Company. The liquor presented at the founding ceremony was produced here. The Erguotou brewing technique originates from the process of discarding the first and last portions of the distillate to take the second brewing, a unique technique that took shape during the reign of Emperor Kangxi in the Qing Dynasty. Today, Erguotou liquor has become the most familiar and favorite baijiu among Beijing locals. The museum of the distillery has been renovated to offer richer content, including displays, cellars, collections, sales, and gift redemption, making it well worth a visit. Today, I just caught the 1:30 PM tour, making the trip all the more worthwhile.
In 1949, Peiping (now Beijing) was peacefully liberated. The government announced the exclusive sale of wine and banned private brewing. Red Star compiled 12 old shochu workshops in Beijing, and exclusively inherited the traditional brewing skills of Beijing Erguotou, becoming the only second pot of wine produced in Beijing. The company is also the largest state-owned winery in the country.
The first floor of the museum collects a lot of old red star jars. Here you can also order the second pot head personalized wine label, which can be reserved for commemoration or transfer to relatives and friends.
As a well-known liquor, Red Star Erguotou is very common in supermarkets and other places. Because the taste is mellow and mellow, but the price is low and close to the people, it is known as "the good wine of the public." Finally, in the wine-making experience area, we tasted the new wine that just flowed out of the shabu-shabu. In the past, I was deeply attracted by such a mellow fragrance, and stayed in the mouth for a few seconds. Drinking it, it really makes people feel good.
The history of Chinese winemaking has a long history and a wide variety. The natural beauty of the wine glass is not only the wine, but also its profound cultural heritage. Beijing Erguotou Wine Museum is a museum with the theme of traditional cooking techniques of Beijing Erguotou wine. This skill has been recorded into the national intangible cultural heritage. If you want to know more about its wine culture, this is the best place to go.
"Red Star" is the only company in Beijing that produces Erguotou wine. It has a pivotal position. Its winemaking process originated from the 19th year of Qing Emperor Kangxi in the Yuan Dynasty. The three brothers, Zhao Cunren, the winemaker, invented the gimmick and went to improve the quality of shochu. The tail and the middle part of the craftsmanship, Beijing Erguotou winemaking skills were born.
China's wine culture has a long history, green ant new wine, red mud small stove, persuaded the king to make a glass of wine, the West is out of the Yangguan no reason, the ancients, whether in a happy mood, sad, when bidding, when gathering, will think I want to drink a few glasses of wine to pin my feelings at that time. Beijing is China's ancient capital of the Five Dynasties. The Red Star Erguotou is the representative of the Beijing wine culture. Whether it is drinking or not drinking people, mentioning the Red Star Erguotou, they are familiar, in the hearts of Chinese people. There is also a small name in the red star Erguotou. Everyone is affectionately called Xiao Er. The Red Star Erguotou, which has grown up for 67 years with New China, has been a business card representing Beijing, China, from the wine of the people's table to the country, and has been inheriting the expectations of the Chinese people for a better life.
