We had a wonderful day trip to Yanqi lake. It took us less than 1.5 hours to drive there on a weekday. I have been wanting to go to the Sunrise Kempinski building for years as it looks so cool and I have seen it many times while driving past it. Finally I made it. It’s actually super nice to see it from the side that is pointing towards the lake. We enjoyed a buffet lunch at the Element restaurant of the second floor of the hotel. A variety of different foods to choose from. After spending some time at the hotel we rented bikes and did a bike tour around the area. Very professional bikes and the bike renters even provided us with two guides and a medical person as we came in a group of 30 people. After biking for about an hour or so we ended our trip at Yanqi hotel where we had dinner at the restaurant called lake palace. Amazing food and the hotel looks fantastic from what we saw of the views of the lake and amazing lobby area. I saw children playing football. 🎢 No attractions nearby, no shops, very few restaurants. But it’s close to Yanqi river. You won’t be feeling bored but I think 2-3 days are enough. The "Huairou National Trend Culture Festival" lasted for 8 days during the Golden Week of National Day. Today, I visited the Yanqi Lake to enjoy the Huairou Guochao Culture Festival. It's a lively cultural festival where I listened to multi-ethnic performances, followed the trend of national style fashion, tasted the special long-table feast of ethnic minorities, and strolled through the deep mountain market. 🌟 There are Miao, Buyi, Dong, Yao, and Mongolian ethnic groups from Guangxi, Guizhou, and other places. There will be performances every day during the National Day holiday, so friends who like Guochao can come and have fun.
