Dalajia Island is located in Daya Bay, separated by water from Aotou Port. It is the second largest island among the graceful and colorful islands in Daya Bay. It is said that Da La Jia was originally called Da Liu Jia, which means “Liu Dao”, but the fishermen here used to speak Chaoshan dialect, and the word “six” in Chaoshan dialect is homophonic with “spicy” in Mandarin, so everyone agreed to call it a common name. It is called "Spicy Island". The beach stretches on the island, and colorful shells are scattered among them, such as pen snails, horn snails, pig snails, small conch snails, scallops, etc. It is a hodgepodge of shellfish and seafood. The experience is incredible. Dalajia Island used to be an important military location, but it became a salted fish acquisition and processing base under the Huiyang Fishery Bureau after it was converted to civilian use. Due to insufficient investment and construction conditions, the island service industry of Dalajia Island has experienced many difficulties. It was not until 1998 that Dalajia Island was officially opened to tourists as a tourist spot.
