Don't Bowl at Rock N Bowl
Tried to get a lane and was told that they were booked. There were 6 lanes open at that time. We decided to stay and eat and play a few of the games with my 3 year old grandson. Food was horrible a...
We were looking for something different to do in New Orleans and I had read about Rock n' Bowl. I called to make a reservation the week before we wanted to go and was only able to get a 4:30 pm or 9:30 pm lane reservation. Took the 9:30, since there is also live music. Had dinner at Ye Olde College Inn first and then walked through the parking lot to Rock n' Bowl. We had a great time listening to Chubby Carrier and the Bayou Swamp Band. Man they have a lot of energy. They never stopped playing while we were there (left about 10:30) and everyone seemed to be having a lot of fun dancing. Bowling was also fun. At $25/hour for a lane, it was perfect for our party of 5. We found the drinks to be reasonably priced and the place to be clean and family friendly. One word of warning that was unclear to me from the website or when making my lane reservation: You have to pay the cover charge for each person (including kids at the same price-$15/pp) in CASH. This is in addition to the lane rental fee. Thankfully we had the cash with us (and I assume there is an ATM on site?), but it was a surprise that our $25/hour lane became the lane + $75 for the cover fee.

We recently attended a birthday party for a friend and really enjoyed our time at Rock N Bowl. We were there in the middle of the afternoon so it was not crowded. The building is like a giant New Orleans style home, with a porch and huge screen doors. Inside are murals and lots of pictures of New Orleans musicians. There is a stage and a large dance floor. The food is basically bar fare. We had pepperoni pizza, chicken tenders, and fries. We were also able to bowl during the party. (If you want to bowl it is $25 per hour for a group of 6 or less.) Also check the website, there are live bands that perform generally in the evening.
