Popped into the city last April during a layover in Turkey and found our way into the old city, Sultanamet. Unexpected stop-over meant we had done no research into a place to eat. Wandered into this lovely place by chance. Right on main street with easy public transportation access. Enticed by delicious smells, soft lighting and beautiful tiled decor. We were warmly greeted by Chef Mustafa who helped us order (point and smile at meat/veg offerings, they then prepare kebab and bring to you at table). Once a rush of guests had been served, came and joined us at our table and spent time talking with us about our travels, his experience running the restaurant, family, life, etc. We were treated to coffee and directed to other must-see sights during our brief visit.
