Me and the wife decided to go for our anniversary. Thought "ooooo look, very nice and highly recommended". It was an experience but it is not all people make it out to be - average food (excellent presentation), well groomed staff (uninspired), excellent views and a very nice setting. Would not bother paying that much again.
we booked our new year's eve dinner in this restaurant: the location is stunning, but unfortunately this was the only positive thing of the evening. 1. The food was disgusting, by far the worst dinner in our lives, 2. I even found a small stone in one of my dishes 3. Waiters were always on a rush and it seems they didn't care at all about the guests 3. Price is incredibly high considering the cheap quality of the food 4. Music was so loud that i couldn't hear myself 4. Cheap wine probably bought from discount markets. Worst dinner ever!
Following a recommendation from a friend we booked dinner here for our last night stay in Istanbul and it was a delightful treat! The setting made it kind of magical. Being picked up by private boat we were aware that it was mainly a venue for couples having a romantic evening. The views of surrounding Istanbul at night were worth it alone. The museum part of the light house was nicely decorated and a nice way to finish off the evening was to explore this section and admire the views further. The food was tasty probably not Michelin star and it is a pricey evening. However, it is not for the food you come here,it is really the whole experience and majestical setting that makes this a must-do evening in Istanbul!
