From Tottori City in Japan in the west to Tango City in Kyoto Prefecture in the east, the "San'in Coastal Geopark" has a coastline of approximately 110 kilometers. The Tottori area is the most famous. There are two ways to appreciate this geopark. One can take a local cruise ship and get close to these rocks; or you can drive along the coastline and overlook the traces of nature left by crustal movement and volcanic activity. You can learn about the changes in the topography of the Sea of Japan, sand dunes, and sinking coasts and other coastal topography!
