Hisar Mosque is the larger and older mosque in Izmir. Originally built in the 16th century and rebuilt in the 19th century, this mosque has many beautiful interiors. Also, the altar called Mimber and the altar of Mihrab are worth seeing. In Izmir, in addition to the Hisar Mosque, around the Kemeralt area are Salepcioglu (20th century), Sadirran (17th century, restored in 19th century) and Kenmeralt (17th century) and other mosques.
