Meicheng has been a county town for more than 1,700 years. As a state city, Meicheng has been the second largest state capital of Zhejiang since its establishment in Zhejiang Province in the early Ming Dynasty. The famous literati Du Mu, Fan Zhongyan and Lu You are all officials here, Wu Zikai, Zhu Buying, Yan Guang, Jiang Gongwang, Xie Lingyun, Meng Haoran, Liu Changqing, Zhu Xi, Lv Zuqian, Xia Chengyu, Pan Tianshou, etc. They are doing in Meicheng. Guan, or to lecture in Meicheng, or to live in the mountains and waters of Meicheng, left a lot of allusions and stories in Meicheng.
