Wangjiaping is an important scenic spot on Yan'an Red Tourist Route. It is located to the northwest of Yan'an City, facing the city across the Yan River, surrounded by mountains and rivers, and has a beautiful environment. After the Party Central Committee stationed in Yan'an, the Military Commission and headquarters organs led the military and civilians in the base area for eight years of resistance. After the Japanese surrender, they smashed the all-out offensive of the Kuomintang reactionaries. On March 18, 1947, Mao Zedong and Zhou Enlai led their troops to evacuate from here and fought in northern Shaanxi.
A free and open patriotism education base. It used to be the headquarters of the Eighth Route Army and the Central Military Commission of the Communist Party of China. It consists of several groups of cave dwellings and bungalows. It is very simple. The leadership of the Communist Party of China headed by Chairman Mao once worked and lived here.
