Nengren Temple

Nengren Temple, known as "Chengtianyuan" in ancient times, is located on Yuliang South Road, Jiujiang City. It was built in the reign of Emperor Wu of Nanliang (502-549), and during the Dali period of the Tang Dynasty, the Daxiong Palace and the Dasheng Pagoda were built. Since then, the Nengren Temple has gradually prospered. The temple was destroyed in the war. From the early Ming Dynasty to the Daoguang period of the Qing Dynasty, the Nengren Temple was rebuilt again and again, and reached its peak in the Qianlong period. However, in the third year of Xianfeng in the Qing Dynasty (1853), the Nengren Temple was once again destroyed by the war, and it became scorched earth. . After that, starting from the 31st year of Xianfeng, Nengren Temple began to rebuild again. After liberation, the government allocated funds for maintenance twice, and Nengren Temple returned to its former glory. Nengren Temple is built according to the slope. The broad gate is inscribed with four characters of "Nengren Ancient Temple", and the earth-red gable wall is inlaid with nine golden characters of "Namo Amitabha Buddha Omji (koulin)", which means "Nengren Ancient Temple". "Belief in Buddhism can remove the obstacles and break the troubles". The temple is divided into three courtyards: front, middle and rear. The vertical axis is followed by the Shanmen, Tianwang Hall, Shuangyang Bridge, Daxiong Hall, Tiefo Hall, Tibetan Scripture Building and other buildings, with a regular layout. , with distinct layers, majestic temples, solemn Buddha statues, the main building of the Daxiong Hall is a brick and wood structure Xieshan style, single-layer double eaves, covered with small green tiles, simple and solemn, dignified. Although Nengren Temple has been through many wars, it is still introduced with the "Eight Sceneries of Nengren", which is full of magical colors. There are also Dasheng Pagoda, Stone Boat, Yuchuanshi, Shuangyang Bridge, Huier Spring, Iron Buddha, Iceberg, Snow Cave; There are brick steps in the tower for viewing from the tower. You can enjoy the scenery of Xun City and the majestic view of Kuanglu from afar. The Shuangyang Bridge is a three-hole stone bridge spanning the Fangsheng Pond. Watch the double sun reflection; the stone boat was chiseled because the temple monk dreamed of the iron Buddha crossing the river, and an iron Buddha sat in the boat (the real iron Buddha has been destroyed in ten years of catastrophe, and it is now a clay sculpture). The "Bingshan Snow Cave" in Nengren Temple was occupied by French missionaries in 1930. At that time, the abbot took it to court. However, the government at that time was cowardly and incompetent, which made it a historical scandal. If it was destroyed, the monks had to move a few residual stones to the front of the Iron Buddha Hall, and the former name was still used.
