What travelers say:

Near the Dead Sea, there is a flat-rise rocky mountain. The eastern cliff of this rocky mountain is about 450 meters high, straight from the top of the mountain to the shore of the Dead Sea; the west cliff is more than 100 meters high. The rocky mountain is flat and roughly wedged; the north and south are about 600 meters long and the east and west are more than 300 meters wide. Above the top of the mountain, there are remnants of ancient palaces and castles, the ancient city of Masada, which has been more than 2,000 years old. The trail leading to the ancient city of Masada is extremely steep and is known as the “Snake Path.”
