Sisters, it's really beautiful in Kashgar
Zebra Xinjiang Lake·Feng Villa, should be the best guesthouse in the old city of Kashgar. There are eight rooms, each with its own unique theme, the lighting and bedding are very thoughtful, especially the public area is decorated with great care, it is said to be the collection of the couple who run the place over the past eight years. A rooftop swimming pool, rarely seen in the border areas, has been built on the rooftop. You can sit on the ground surrounded by ethnic textiles, eat Uighur-style breakfast, and gaze at the Kunlun Tower, endless romance.

Shake off the inventory of October
The exotic style of the ancient city of Kashi has always attracted me
I set off directly before the weather got too cold
I arrived at the homestay in the afternoon and put my luggage in the room
I went straight to the rooftop
It satisfied all my imagination
Characteristic buildings, a lot of carpets, carefully arranged scenes
As a perfect start to this trip

Kashgar Guide · That faraway city, you always have to visit once
The ancient city wall of the Tang Dynasty that has stood for a thousand years, the Silk Road, Adras silk, Twelve Muqam music... Now, you can finally see this bizarre and magnificent Kashgar with your own eyes. This is the most western part of China, a desolate Gobi desert with sparse vegetation; This is the farthest region from the ocean in the world, lacking water sources; This is also the intersection of Eastern and Western civilizations, where 31 ethnic groups thrive. The mountains are covered with snow all year round, the desert is magnificent and vast, the rivers are repeatedly tortuous, the most beautiful Populus euphratica forest in the world, the most expensive jade, the mysterious and passionate silk, and the hospitable ethnic minority friends, live on a land of 162,000 square kilometers. The magnificent natural landscape and the long history and culture show a unique charm in Kashgar, Xinjiang. Take you to Kashgar to see the sedimentation and beauty of time. The ancient city of Kashgar is located in the center of Kashgar city. It is one of the largest existing rammed earth architecture groups in the world, and it is also the only traditional historical block with typical ancient Western Regions characteristics preserved in our country, with a history of more than 2100 years. Standing on the high platform of the ancient city, perhaps inadvertently looking at the same distance as Xuanzang a thousand years ago. This is where the people of Kashgar truly live, every day is shining and shining.

Pamirs Plateau Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Mar)
Touring Southern Xinjiang | Heading to the Pamir Plateau | Pamir always needs to be seen once
Some places, just hearing the name makes people love it, and Pamir is one of them. This land carries the snow-capped Muztagh, Gongger Jiubie Peak; it has Karakul Lake, White Sand Lake; there are Wakhan Corridor, Hongqirafu Port, and all these are centered on Tashkurgan, this border county town at the junction of three countries in western China.
In terms of scenery, honestly, I think it may be slightly inferior to the Tibetan plateau landscape, but in a geographical sense, this is a place that must be visited once in a lifetime. And the Taerman Wetland is the place I think can best showcase the scenery of Pamir.
Here, the blue sky, white clouds, snow-capped mountains, rivers and grasslands are perfectly integrated, presenting the most authentic plateau landscape. It is hard to find another picture that can simultaneously display snow-capped glaciers, red ridges, green pastures and gurgling streams. Each layer is a unique landscape and landform, but together they elevate this stunning scenery again. Southern Xinjiang is mostly desert, with a dry climate, and the Pamir Plateau is the same, but the Taerman Wetland is a rare plateau pasture.
Muztagh Peak, known as the father of glaciers, has very developed glaciers. The huge ice tongues scatter down from the mountain, and the distant snow-capped mountains are Gongger Peak and Gongger Jiubie Peak, which are also the highest peaks on the west side of the Kunlun Mountains.
"Today I have walked all the detours, and from now on my life is smooth", this sentence is absolutely a textbook-level tourism slogan. Whether my future is smooth, I don't know, but in Pamir, I have indeed walked a lot of detours these days.
There are many other places worth checking in, such as the Apricot Flower Village in Datong Township, the signboard of the Wakhan Corridor, the Bandir Blue Lake on the Panlong Back Tower County Road, etc. But I think all the attractions are more meaningful because they are all part of the Pamir Plateau. Pamir is always worth exploring.

If you haven't been to Southern Xinjiang, you won't know the beauty of Xinjiang - the Pamir Plateau
The mysterious Pamir. If you haven't been to Xinjiang, you won't know the vastness of China; if you haven't been to Southern Xinjiang, you won't know the beauty of Xinjiang.
Southern Xinjiang is not only a place to see culture, but also scenery. Southern Xinjiang has the White Sand Lake, which is half white sand and half lake, the majestic Gongger Peak and Jiubie Peak, the Muztagh Peak known as the 'Father of Ice Mountains', the rugged Panlong Ancient Road, the Bandir Blue Lake, the Yarkand River, and the exotic Kashgar Old City.
The snow mountains of the Pamir Plateau are so close that they seem to be within reach, and the emerald-like lakes change with the weather and angle at any time, everything is so beautiful that it makes people intoxicated ☺️
This winter, come to Southern Xinjiang for a visit.

Xinjiang Muztag Peak | It is finally arrived at the Pamirs
is finally arrived in the Pamirs, the westernmost border of the Chinese border, is also the southernmost coordinates of this Xinjiang road trip.
The car is driving in the borderland, walking in the thin air of the Pamirs, sleeping night under the Muztag Peak, suddenly feels that those who have been quiet for thousands of years, it seems that they have never been clean The land has happened.
Only plateaus, snow mountains, lake glaciers,
into eternity.

Where to go in April, highly recommended
April is the best time to travel!!!
April in spring, a good season!
It's the perfect time to see the flowers!
Here, I recommend a few places of poetry and distance for everyone.
At the end of March and the beginning of April every year, this place will be the most beautiful.
1️⃣ The first place: Peach blossoms in Linzhi, Tibet, known as the 'Little Jiangnan' of Tibet, is really healing! Every year from the end of March to the beginning of April, from 3.15 to 4.15, the Linzhi area is a peach blossom paradise. Snow-capped mountains, peach trees, and barley fields, the villages are like a secret realm, where one could stay for a whole day.
2️⃣ The second place: Apricot blossom villages such as the ancient Tashkurgan Trail and Datong Township in the Pamir Plateau region of Xinjiang. The exotic charm here hides quaint villages, and the mountains and rivers here are full of life in this spring. The ancient apricot trees, with the end of March being the best time to view the blossoms.
3️⃣ Xinjiang Yili Turgen Apricot Blossom Valley, where apricot trees cover the mountains and valleys. The spring here is the most beautiful, in early April, around Qingming, a brief week, interpreting the fairy tale of spring.
🔥 The above three places are the must-visit checkpoints for the spring travel ceiling.
If you also long for the spring here, then let's go together!

Kashgar Old Town Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Mar)
Kashgar | It's better to come early, but the best time is always now.
Stayed in Kashgar for 3 days, every day was very happy. I know that this city is becoming more and more like Lijiang. If I had come earlier, I might have felt more charm about Kashgar. However, the development of the city always involves contradictions. Going out will inevitably bring impact and pain, but staying in place will still be a long-term unfairness.
As a region that gathers multiple ethnic groups, being able to preserve their own language, culture, and traditions is a miracle in my opinion. However, whether such a miracle can bring about good treatment from capital is a question mark.
Of course, I am just a passerby who happened to come here. My simplest wish is that Kashgar will always be a joyful city.
When the weather is good, getting lost in the alleys of the old city is the best way to open up. The children here are so cute that they often greet you actively. Who can refuse such angelic smiles? Most locals are optimistic and easy-going, and it feels like they are always dancing with joy, even if you don't buy anything, you can still chat happily. The sunlight falls on every old building, and the changes in light and shadow bring different atmospheres. Walking quietly among them is like being a part of an oil painting. I couldn't help but participate in the Kashgar old city travel photography, squeezing among a group of Western princesses is also a rare impression of the Western Regions.
On the day when the sandstorm struck, everyone was not setting up stalls outdoors, but it would be super interesting to go from one characteristic small shop to another. Go to Zahra Cake Shop and have a piece of characteristic cake full of raisins and nuts. Regret not packing a few more boxes to take home; go to the coffee shop at the end of the alley and have a cup of desert coffee that is even more bitter than my life; go to the non-trendy old tea house and have a cup of Kashgar's local specialty medicinal tea, and listen to the uncles' intoxicated Dotar performance... Then go to Jiulongquan Inn to take a photo, and take a distant view of the high platform residential buildings full of historical sense in the sand. With a little personal prayer, I hope that when I come to Kashgar again next time, these places I like will still be there.
I have said that every moment of meeting with me is the best scenery. Whether it's sunlight or sand and dust, every aspect of Kashgar, I am glad to have met you.

I thought I was transported to Morocco.....
Site : Kashgar Old City In Kashgar Perfecture, Xinjiang, China
Location : China, Xinjiang, Kashgar Prefecture, Kashgar, Yawage Rd, 艾提尕尔清真寺旁 邮政编码: 844099
Getting here : Fly in from Major cities in China , or you can take a slow train from Urumqi....I did both, both experiences is amazing!!!
Worth the visit : 100% 💯
Kashgar old city has a 2000 years worth of history. The design is Islamic influenced that I felt like I was transport to Morocco when I came here for the 1st time....The 2nd time I am already a pro coz I walk everywhere on foot the 1st time.....There is so much interesting things to see. Every alley in the old town has it's own speciality for example black smith alley, carpenter alley, garment and textile needlework, bakery, and butcher. So if you need something just go to the allocated alley. Kashgar lies in an oasis before towns were built-up in the area. Kashgar is in the silk route which connects the west to the east for commerce in the old ages. Kashgar predominantly populated by Uighurs an Turks. Language spoken is Uighurs, Chinese and some speak russian. The food there is mostly influenced by food that was transported during the silk route expedition era. Food like semolina and pomegranate juice, spices, mutton fried crepes are widely available......The food is totally different from typical chinese food. Love it over there and it snowed heavily in winter and turns the sky red during sunset....love love love

Gaotai Ancient Homes Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Mar)
The Soul of Kashgar Old Town - Gaotai Residential Area
Gaotai Residential Area is a Uyghur residential community built on a loess high cliff more than 40 meters high and over 800 meters long at the northeast end of the old town of Kashgar, Xinjiang. It has a history of 600 years and is a major landscape for displaying ancient Uyghur residential architecture and folk customs in Kashgar.
The soul of Kashgar Old Town lies in the old town, and the essence of the old town is the Gaotai Residential Area. The 'Gaotai Residential Area' only occupies one-tenth of the area of Kashgar's old town, yet it almost encompasses all the architectural styles of the old town. Gaotai Residential Area is a Uyghur residential community built on a loess high cliff more than 40 meters high and over 800 meters long at the northeast end of the old town of Kashgar, Xinjiang, with a history of 600 years. The characteristic residential buildings here are mostly made of earth and wood, and they are important physical evidence for studying the living customs and architectural features of ethnic minorities, as well as one of the mysterious colors of Kashgar Old Town.
The high cliff has existed for two thousand years, and more than a thousand years ago, Uyghur ancestors built houses and settled here. It is said that the famous Eastern Han generals Ban Chao and Geng Gong once left their footprints here. In the mid-9th century, during the Karakhanid Dynasty, the royal palace was built on the north side of this high cliff, and the current Gaotai Residential Area was built on the south cliff. Koziya Beyxi - in Uyghur, meaning 'high cliff pottery house', has developed over a thousand years of history, forming a unique residential architecture with hundreds of years of history on the high cliff.
The Uyghurs of Kashgar have been living here for generations, building their houses against the cliff. As the family population increases with each generation, they add another floor on top of their ancestors' houses. Generation after generation, houses connect to houses, floors to floors, layer upon layer. A single residential house is a family history of reproduction, livelihood, rise and fall, and the continuation of descendants. The Uyghurs have a strong sense of clan, and the core of their residential culture is the attachment to home and homeland, so many residential houses have been passed down through seven or eight generations. Some large residential compounds have as many as ten or twenty rooms, with several generations living together in one courtyard, truly embodying the concept of 'four generations under one roof'.
Here, you can see everywhere 'over-street houses', 'half-street houses', and 'suspended houses' built over the crossroads of alleys, which look like watchtowers or blockhouses standing in the alleys from a distance. These unplanned, randomly built houses upon houses, and houses outside houses, are arranged into deep, crisscrossing, winding, and undulating alleys of Kashgar's Gaotai Residential Area. Walking along any path inside the alley, you can see the large gates of residential courtyards built along the alley, opening against the outer wall, with each household right next to each other.
Gaotai Residential Area has a strong Uyghur architectural style, which has been influenced by Islamic culture under the unique environment and natural conditions of Kashgar, and has gradually formed over hundreds of years of historical evolution. Gaotai Residential Area is rugged, densely populated, with many alleys, crisscrossing in all directions. It is praised by tourists from home and abroad as the 'living folk museum of the Uyghur people' and represents the connotation and historical heritage of Kashgar, a famous historical and cultural city in China.

I really didn't go abroad! This is the Gaotai residential area in Kashgar
The bustling and noisy old city of Kashgar makes you want to be quiet?
Don't like commercialization and want to experience the beauty of ancient city architecture?
Then it's really better to cross the road to the Gaotai residential area on the opposite side.
Gaotai residential area is a newly rebuilt attraction, admission is free but reservation is needed, there are few tourists inside, but the architecture is really distinctive, brick carvings and wood carvings are gorgeous and exquisite, full of Western Region style.
The meaning of Gaotai residential area in Uighur language is the clay pottery people on the cliff, inside are houses connected to houses, buildings connected to buildings, layer upon layer of layout. The labyrinthine alleys and unique house architecture together constitute the residential spectacle, which is the only labyrinthine city with Uighur characteristics in China.
After entering, you will find that a residential area has several exits, different exits correspond to different alleys, which is quite interesting.
Want to avoid the crowd to take pictures, this place is really good.

Panlong Ancient Path Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Mar)
Panlong Ancient Road||The world's ultimate must-drive experience!
||The world's ultimate must-drive experience!.🌈 A world-shocking spectacle! A driving journey you must conquer in your lifetime, enough to boast about for a lifetime!
🎉
The winding Panlong Ancient Road was once a shining pearl on the Silk Road connecting the East and the West.
It is not just a road from Taxian County to Waqia Township; the short 30-kilometer distance hides an astonishing 639 turns, each one a masterpiece of nature's craftsmanship, especially those hairpin bends as delicate as hair, which are truly breathtaking.
The Panlong Ancient Road is not only a passage connecting urban and rural areas, but also a poverty alleviation road carrying the hopes of wealth and prosperity. Facing the remote 75 kilometers between Waqia Township and Tashkurgan County Town, as well as the daunting mountains on the way to the Wuhong Line, the travel of local herdsmen used to be a huge challenge. However, the builders, with their incredible perseverance and wisdom, constructed this winding S-shaped road along the mountain terrain in the soft sandy rocks, ensuring safety and stability.
Despite the challenges and dangers of the Panlong Ancient Road, it greatly shortens the distance between Waqia Township and the county town, making travel much more convenient for the herdsmen.
The overall altitude difference of the road is as high as 1100 meters, with the highest point reaching up to the clouds at 4216 meters, undoubtedly a dual test of the driver's skills and physical strength.
But when you finally reach the end and overlook the road winding like a giant dragon on the earth, the beautiful scenery in front of you will make you feel that all the effort is worthwhile. Snow mountains, grasslands, Gobi, these magnificent scenes unfold one after another, like a flowing painting, breathtakingly beautiful.
📌 Warm Tips:
🔹 The plateau area has thin oxygen, if needed, please replenish oxygen in time to avoid high altitude sickness such as headaches.
🔹 Due to the numerous bends, be sure to drive cautiously, slow down appropriately, and ensure safety.
🔹 This route requires high driving skills, it is recommended that experienced drivers take the wheel to ensure a smooth journey.
💙 Recommended self-driving route: Start from Taxian, follow the Panlong Ancient Road all the way, then head to Bandier Blue Lake, visit Ku Township, and finally return to Taxian, a day trip full of surprises and challenges.

A glimpse of eternity! In March, in southern Xinjiang, I encountered a shower of apricot blossoms on the plateau
Every year from mid-March to early April is the season when apricot blossoms bloom on the Pamir Plateau in southern Xinjiang.
👉Unlike the apricot blossoms in northern Xinjiang, those in southern Xinjiang bloom earlier.㊙️
Southern Xinjiang features ancient wild apricot blossoms intertwined with villages, offering a richer cultural atmosphere.
【Best Time to View Apricot Blossoms】
Mid-March to early April, with different blooming times due to varying altitudes.
【Attraction Introduction】
Pamir Plateau: Uncover the ethnic groups on the Pamir Plateau, step into the sea of flowers, stroll through the apricot forests, wander around homestays, and capture the beautiful scenery.
Kashgar Old Town: With a long history, diverse culture, and strong ethnic characteristics, it is also the sub-venue for this year's Spring Festival.
Tashkurgan Ancient Path: Hidden within the ancient path are not only apricot blossom villages but also bizarre rocks and magical landscapes.
White Sand Lake: A sand mountain wrapped in silver sand naturally formed on the Pamir Plateau, where you can take breathtakingly beautiful pictures without any filters.
Muztagh Ata Volcanic Crater: There are several scattered dormant volcanic craters of various sizes, which are very spectacular.
Band-e Amir Lake: A hidden super sapphire on the Pamir Plateau, a less-known attraction.
Happiness No. 5 Bridge: The rustic Happiness No. 5 Bridge connects the two banks of the Yeh River and brings together a thousand years of Tajik culture.
【Route Reference】
Day1: Kashgar
Day2: Kashgar--White Sand Lake, Karakul Lake 'Muztagh Ata'--Taxkorgan
Day3: Taxkorgan--Wakhan Corridor 'Panlong Ancient Path', Band-e Amir Blue Lake--Koksu/Tashkurgan
Day4: Koksu/Tashkurgan--Tashkurgan Apricot Blossom Village, Western Region Tajik Villages, Herdsmen--Taxkorgan
Day5: Taxkorgan--Pamir Plateau, Golden Grassland, Stone City--Kashgar
Day6: Kashgar
【Travel Outfit Tips】
🔹In March and April, the temperature on the Pamir Plateau can vary greatly between day and night, so remember to bring several warm clothes.
🔹The plateau's ultraviolet rays are strong, and it's quite dry, so bring enough skincare products and hydrating masks.
🔹For apricot blossom photography, you can try light-colored dresses or Hanfu, while the old town is more suitable for brightly colored ethnic styles.
🔹Prepare some bright-colored hats & scarves as accessories, they make for great photos.
【Travel Tips】
1. There are many old apricot trees in Tashkurgan, and the shapes of the trees are very beautiful.
2. It's not easy to dispose of garbage in the apricot blossom villages, so please try to take the trash back to the county for disposal.
Most of the older generation in the apricot blossom villages do not speak Mandarin. If you want to take their pictures, please gesture to ask first, and after taking the photos, you can show them. They are usually very willing.
3. Inside Happiness No. 5 Bridge, there is a grove of century-old apricot trees. The light is very good and beautiful in the morning, and when the wind blows, you can see a spectacular shower of blossoms.
4. If you don't plan to take the Shache Ancient Path, then there's no need to go to Datong Township; Kuzhu is enough.

Sharing the travel guide of the Panlong Ancient Road
Walking on the Panlong Ancient Road, in fact, everyone is not for hurrying, but for the scenery along the way. Now it has been changed to a one-way road, walking and stopping, although the altitude rises directly from 1200 to over 4000, looking at the Big Panlong and Small Panlong. When there are few cars, the playability is very good.
A few worth stopping points:
✨Dragon Turning Head: Personally, I think it's okay not to stop without a parking space. Picture 4 can slightly look at the snow mountain from a distance
✨Big Panlong Viewing Platform: The best position to see the whole view of Big Panlong. Walk a few steps to the platform. Picture 2 is that there are many people, it is easier to take pictures with a telephoto lens. Or not to the platform, at the position before going up the stairs, pictures 3, 8.
✨Then there is a Big Panlong parking lot, with more parking spaces. And Picture 1 is a small slope on the left hand side of a turn down from that parking lot. When there are few cars, you can walk around. The photographer took pictures in the parking lot.
✨A point for buying coffee and snacks after the Big Panlong Viewing Platform: Pictures 4, 10.
✨Small Panlong Viewing Platform: This is my personal favorite. Pictures 7, 9, 11. Overlooking Small Panlong. Parking is relatively ample.
