I came here mainly to take pictures of the locals. I still don't know the history.
In the square in front of the Jagannath Temple, there is a stone pillar with a height of more than ten meters. Above it is a bronze gilt statue of King Pratapu Mara. The statue of the king is peaceful and his hands are placed on the central throne. On the front and back are his three princes and two queens, respectively, there is a king cobra canopy on top
The temples on Durbar Square in Kathmandu are dominated by red brick buildings. The most important ones are Maju Dewa Temple, Shiva and Parvati Temples, Kumari Temple, Gyana Temple, Pratapumara King Column, Chasin Dega Temple, Hanuman Monkey God Palace, black Baila Buddha statue. . . The exquisite carving art on the building is dizzying.
On the top of the original pillar, the king folded his hands together and sat cross-legged under the cobra umbrella. Unfortunately, the pillar broke during the 2015 earthquake and the statue on the top was damaged. Now only the bare stone pillars are visible. But we saw the pillar of King Pratapuma in Durbar Square in Bhaktapur.
