Good view
We visited this place as part of the photography tour with Michele Michiko. It is a nice lookout with a very good view of the lake. Beautiful scenery. It was deserted when we were there.
A satisfying mountain climb that you can enjoy in a few hours

I enjoyed the magnificent scenery overlooking Lake Kussharo. I was very satisfied with the sight that I gradually saw below while climbing a narrow road surrounded by bamboo and pine trees.
It is an observatory on the way to the Abashiri Kawayu Line. There are not many tourists because it is a road with a small traffic volume. It is a little-known observatory with a panoramic view of Lake Kussharo.
I stopped by on the way from Lake Mashu to Memanbetsu Airport. If the weather is nice, you can see Lake Kussharo and Atsanupuri (Mt. Iwo) well. The view of Lake Kussharo seen from Bihoro Pass is also superb, but I think the view of Lake Kussharo seen from the Mokotoyama Observatory parking lot is also superb. Unfortunately, it is not a major, so few tourists visit. If you can go sightseeing in Lake Kussharo and Lake Mashu from Abashiri and return to Abashiri, it is also an ant to put this route in either direction.

average view during winter
average view during winter as it's foggy and it is not a clear view of the lake. Other seasons may give better views.
