The stunning retro hotel at the southernmost point of the United States - Key West Hotel sharing.
🏖️
Stay in a sea view room when you come to the beach! We stayed at the Waldorf Astoria Casa Marina Key West, which is under the Hilton brand.
Although this hotel is a bit old-fashioned, both its location and facilities are first-class. The lobby and exterior are also very retro (forgot to take photos), which is very characteristic of Key West Island. If you plan to visit Key West Island, it is really highly recommended.
The breakfast at this place is very fresh and delicious, and the wine is also good. The ubiquitous roosters are also a unique feature of Key West! It is definitely a place to come back to again!

Ernest Hemingway home
Location: Key West, Florida
The Hemingway House, one of Key West's most popular spots, was once the home of the celebrated American author, who lived here for more than a decade. You can wander around the largely preserved rooms and tour the lush, lovely gardens.
The home is filled with Hemingway memorabilia—photos, books, and furniture—that played a part in his South Florida life. There are free guided tours every 30 minutes. Entrance to the museum is by cash only, no credit cards accepted. $17 for adults, $7 for children.
I got to know about Ernest Hemingway when I was traveling in Cuba years ago and visited one of his favourite bars in Havana.

United States·The southernmost point of the United States, Key West Island {4}
Upon entering Key West, a lively and leisurely atmosphere hits you. The city's small streets are filled with various souvenir shops, inns, and coffee houses, the most popular of which is a restaurant. This place, known as the southernmost building in the United States, has been visited by as many as 17 U.S. presidents.
Walking along Duval Street to the southernmost point of Key West, people will see a painted, top-like 'southernmost point' sign of the United States. It is only 144 kilometers from the opposite coast of Cuba. It is recorded that Cuba's national hero Jose Marti lived in the United States for 15 years. In 1895, he led the Cubans to resist the Spanish colonists, and he personally commanded and participated in the battle, finally sacrificing himself on the front line. It is said that Marti's uprising order was sent back to Cuba from Key West in a cigar.
Driving to Key West is a unique experience. Along Highway 1, there are more than 200 kilometers along the way, many places on land are only as wide as the road, and the sea is on both sides of the road. There are many bridges along the way to connect the islands that are too far apart, the longest of which is 11.2 kilometers. People can see the spectacular view of the long bridge across the sea from a long distance. As early as 1905, Key West was the most populous city in Florida, and building a smooth traffic route became a very important project. At that time, American industrial tycoon Henry Flagler formulated an ambitious blueprint, he decided to extend the railway to Key West.
Hemingway is one of the most famous writers in the United States, many of his works, such as 'The Snows of Kilimanjaro', were completed in the small town of Key West. Hemingway's former residence in Key West was built in 1851 and is located on Whitehead Street in the small town.
Across the street is a tall lighthouse, the light on the tower not only guides the ships at sea, but also helps Hemingway, the often drunk great writer, find his home.

Kelly’s Trips
The southernmost sunset of the US mainland
in South Florida during this trip, except for the first rain in Miami, the rest of the day is good enough to see the sunrise and sunset every day, just like breathing .
is no exception in Key West. Mallory Square in the west of the city is a great place to watch the sunset, in addition to the street performers. When the sun sets to the sea level, and the sea breeze smashes, the sky blends pink, orange, and blue-violet in the line of sight, and the hard shell melts at the moment.

Dry Tortugas National Park Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Apr)
The 19th-century fortress
Dry Tortugas National Park
floating in the turquoise sea is one of the most difficult to reach American national parks. The boat and seaplane can only be reached.
From Key West, all the way to the west for two and a half hours. The speed of the ship is very fast. Standing on the bow deck, you can sometimes see the sea turtles floating on the water surface. Several black clouds on the side are pouring rain on the uninhabited reefs a few kilometers away. Most of the
dry turtle national parks belong to the sea, while the upper part of the sea has only a few small coral reefs and a huge amount of Fort Jefferson. Built in the 19th century, the hexagonal fort was built with more than 16 million bricks and is said to be the largest masonry in the Western Hemisphere. In addition to maintaining the shipping trade and defending the security of the Gulf of Mexico, it was also used to detain the Southern Alliance deserters during the American Civil War.
Jefferson Fort is almost as large as the island it is in. It took me more than three hours to walk along each floor of the fort. I even went snorkeling and back to the shore. I didnt care about lunch on the boat. The fortress was full of large-caliber artillery pieces, and the one-meter-thick outer wall was unbreakable in the same year, enough to protect the "Gibraltar" of the Gulf of Mexico.
Dominic.
As the largest masonry fort in the United States, Jefferson Castle stands on Garden Island, 113 kilometers west of Key West, the southernmost tip of the United States mainland. Jefferson castle is hexagonal. It is built according to the perfect symmetry advocated by the classical architecture school. From the air, you can take a plane to overlook the magnificence of the whole fort.
