Great Wall Station

China's Great Wall Station is the first scientific research station established in Antarctica. Located on the Fields Peninsula in the west of King George Island in the Shetland Islands in South Antarctica, the small bay in Maxwell Bay to the east - Great Wall Bay, the bay is wide and deep, easy to enter and exit, backed by the snowy slopes of the year, and the water supply is sufficient.

I had always been to Antarctica in my plan, but I didn't expect the right opportunity to come so quickly and say go. I had a cold + seasickness before, and I was excited about everything as soon as I arrived at the Antarctic station. This is the first land we have been on in the Antarctic for 3 days. Although the weather was not good that day, the snow was relatively small, and it was enough for us to be hid for a long time.

The Great Wall Station is located on the largest island in the South Shetland Islands: King George Island, across the sea from the Antarctic Peninsula. After a day and night pirate ship in the Drake Strait, it finally arrived in the nearby sea in the morning and needed to take a batch of charge boats to the island. It should be summer, the ice and snow around the Great Wall Station have melted, less feeling, but the first time may also be the only time in life to set foot on the Antarctic continent, or very excited! There is a Unicom base station, it is said that you can call the domestic for free!

The ice-snowed Antarctic, taking advantage of its late summer, finally ran to the Great Wall station, did not see this station. Instead, I saw several similar scientific examination stations in Argentina.

And the inspiration you are going to be on your way to the unknown and the distance. In the snow, I set foot on the continent of Antarctica on the seventh continent. Icebreaker sailed through the Galshe Strait from King George Island and landed in Portal piont in a rubber boat. It snowed very heavily. I had to walk along the road of the explorers, otherwise I would fall into the snow nearly one meter deep. At the commanding heights, you can overlook two bays surrounded by pure white world, breathing the air from the southernmost tip of the world, Antarctica is not as cold as imagined, the snowflakes floating in the sea, the ice floating in the sea, the albatross flying over the sea, I love this pure world.

The 30th Antarctic Scientific Expedition Team of China carried out annual supply to the Great Wall Station as a member of the team. After the tight supply ended, I was lucky to be able to go to the Great Wall Station of China. I was very excited. The Antarctic scenery was infinite. Penguins, seals and icebergs were the best memories of my life.
