Day36: Human Bone Church in Kutna Hora [skeleton][skeleton] Reminder: Don't click on it for the fainthearted
The Czech "Human Bone Church" is located in Kutna Hora, a small town about 70 kilometers east of Prague. It was built in the 14th century. Its exterior is a seemingly ordinary Gothic architecture, but the interior decoration is made of human bones. Therefore, it is not so much a church as a "Human Bone Museum".
There is an ossuary church in the Czech Republic! The area of this church is not large, and the appearance is not much like that of other small European churches. The various decorations of the human bone structure in the church are indeed unique and you can visit!
This human bone church is very famous. In order to commemorate the Black Death in Europe in the 14th century, the decorations in the church are made of human bones, wine glasses made of human bones, human bone chandeliers, human bone candle holders, and human bone crosses. The taste is slightly heavy. The atmosphere is relatively depressing, and some people may not be comfortable with it, but I think it's worth going.
Czech Bones Church | Chandeliers, candle holders, and curtains are all made of human bones with dynamic black notes. The church is no different from ordinary Gothic buildings in appearance, but the "wonderful" thing is that the ceiling inside and the decorations on the walls are made of human bones! A candlestick made of more than 120 human bones, the ceiling is covered with limb bones, and even the tapestry on the wall is decorated with human bones. Here you can see crosses, crowns, pendants and other decorations, all made of bones from various parts. .
