we chose to visit the city Mosque just before the sunset, the view was fantastic and the photos that we took was absolutely amazing
The Mosque is not too far from the city center and a good place for some scenic photos. If you’re not dressed appropriately, no worries, there are rental garbs onsite for both men and women. Aside from photos, there’s not much other to do as it’s an active place of worship.
Muslims will came to pray here every Friday.
Uneventful. No activities. Just picture taking with the mosque as background.
Gorgeous mosque in Kota Kinabalu. This is a popular tourist destination for photos.
This is a must visit spiritual site with a large gold dome and spacious outdoor area. Prominent Sabahans have resting places here.
Located along the scenic Likas Bay, the Kota Kinabalu City Mosque is the only floating mosque in Sabah. Built on a 2.47 acres site, the main prayer hall can acommodate up to 12,000 people at a time. The comtemporary Islamic architecture of this white building with blue domes is accentuated by the man made lagoon which surrounds it. It is especially beautiful during sunset. The mosque is open for public visits daily except on Fridays from 8:00am to 5:00pm. Admission is free, but be reminded to wear clothes that cover up your body.
