Yes, it can get crowded at times. And no, this is not the cleanest beach in Thailand. But when you're just looking for a lazy day, Ao Nang Beach is still my beach of choice. It's easy to access, there are plenty of restaurants and bars around, and the beach is big enough for you to be able to find a secluded spot. There are many shops alongside the street to the beach where its a heaven, plenty for shopping for souvenirs, food, drinks, music, massage and tailors stretching maybe a good 2Km or so.
A definitely not to miss place. Very vibrant at night with the pubs and clubs and many street food stalls too.
You can take a boat ride to the nearby islands or beaches too or just chill with a drink watching people and their activities.
The beach and the water does not look inviting for swimming and didn't see anyone swimming too.
Many types of public, private abd self hire transportations are available besides walking. A great retreat for anyone
"Doesn't run in packs. She's often alone. Keeps her circle small. Knows her power and works in silence."
"As the salty air gets through my hair and smacks on my thirsty skin, I breathe."
The cheapest way to get to Ao Nang Beach from Krabi Aiport is through Song Thaew. Song Thaew is Thailand's one public transportation. From International or Domestic Arrival Hall, you need to get outside of the airport and walk to the main highway (approximately 10 minutes walk). I was sweating like a pig that time since I arrived in Krabi at past half 8 in the morning. I've waited like 10 to minutes before a Songthaew going to Ao Nang beach passed by. Since this was my first time in Krabi I'm not familiar with the place (literally). Through the help of the locals and Google Map, I arrived in iRest Seafront safe. I paid 50 baht for the entire trip and the travel time was 45 minutes with minimal stops.
You may also consider a shared van transfer from Krabi International Airport to your hotel directly. Transfer per passenger is 150.00 baht whilst private car transfer starts at 500.00 baht for 3-4 passengers.
WHERE TO STAY IN KRABI
I usually look at my accommodation depends on my budget and how long I'll be staying. I stayed in iRest Seafront and I booked my bunk bed for 380.00 baht per night. Later on, I found out that I booked a simple, clean, and literally walking distance to Ao Nang Beach. I highly recommend iRest Seafront not just because they offer budget-friendly accommodation but also their staffs are friendly.

[Krabi] Eat more than addiction, cheap seafood buffet recommended!
In the 5 days of Krabi, although I have eaten seafood every day, I always feel that I am not addicted to eating.
Inadvertently found this seafood buffet restaurant, called [TONG TALAY], the seafood is very fresh.
Big head shrimp, crab, oysters & various shellfish are all available in unlimited quantities. There are also some seafood that I can't name, and there are really many kinds.
There is a small stove at each table, and the seafood is baked. There is also a large processing table on the side of the restaurant, which is responsible for steaming crabs, opening oysters, grilled fish, and picking up seafood for yourself.
Seafood is chilled and live. The live seafood must be placed in the ice bucket for 30 seconds before being processed. Otherwise it will be snarled on the stove, very scary.
In addition to seafood, there are also cooked food, cold dishes, fruits, desserts and ice cream. Drinks are also available in unlimited quantities. There is also a bowl of ice powder made by the guests, which is really amazing.

Many Thai cafeterias are limited, but this one does not, like one. Such a seafood buffet, as long as RMB 139 yuan / person, is it very cost-effective?
Krabi is a tropical peninsula in the south of Thailand that is like a paradise. There are more than 30 outlying islands dotted around the sea, dotted with pearls. Krabi has many beautiful islands and a strong local culture, and its rich vegetation and animal populations are also famous.
The first time I came to Krabi, this island is not the same as Phuket. We went to a place where there are not many tourists, only a few of us, and the days that went there were heavy rain, we I have been staying here and can't go out. I finally waited for the sunny day and took the opportunity to take photos.
Ao Nang Beach, about 20 km from the Town of Krabi, is a very lively beach in Krabi. The beach is located at the northern end of Ao Nang Bay and is situated by the sea. Over 100 elegant and comfortable resorts are scattered under the coconut trees by the sea. The beach extends to the foothills of the very famous limestone formations. At the end of the beach is a cliff with mountains and lush virgin forests. The amenities are convenient and easily accessible. Most visitors to Krabi come here. This is a great place to swim, sunbathe, stroll on the beach, and enjoy the sunrise and sunset.
