Photos of Akan-Mashu National Park

The park spans across Hokkaido, a historic park in Hokkaido. Most of the park is covered with natural forests, still maintaining the original appearance of nature. The park mainly presents karst landforms, centered on three volcanic lakes, Lake Akan, Lake Kussharo, and Lake Mashu. These volcanic lakes are formed by volcanic activity. This type of terrain where volcanoes and lakes are adjacent to each other in a small area is also very rare in Japan.
