say, however - absolutely overcrowded when we visited and, even though I'm tall and can look over the majority of other visitors, it was still to busy to be any fun. Good location and great 36 Poets e...
I went out of my way to go to this museum unaware of its closure for renovations - to reopen March 2020. There was a special exhibit on the calligraphy of 36 poets pre-1000ad. There wasn't any Englis...
Terrible, avoid at all costs. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED
I had high hopes for the Kyoto National Museum, but found the experience a terrible waste of money and bordering on a scam. 1. Half of the buildings are closed, as the secondary building is being reno...
Kyoto National Museum is one of Japan's four great national museum, and is very representative. The collection is mainly ancient Japanese artwork, divided into themes such as stoneware, pottery, paintings, everyday tools, and knives and blades -- each with its own exhibition hall. There are over eighty thousand ancient Asian handcraft artworks, including sculpture of Samantabhadra, folding screen with forest painting, Heiji period paintings, and over eighty Baishi poem collections.

Both historical building & very modern building are so beautiful.
This is an interesting Museum, full of fascinating relics and ancient pieces of history that hold valuable significance, both historically and culturally for Japan. It focuses on modern art in Japan and Asia as a whole, and you can find many different artefacts throughout the four storied museum. Make sure to get yourself a translator, to really get the most out of your experience at the museum. With so much history behind the museum itself and the treasures it holds, listening to the tales behind each piece and how it got there is an important part of your visit to the National Museum. A note worthy visit for history buffs and backpackers alike.
This is one of the most famous national museums in Japan. Its entire building is divided into old museums and new ones. The old museum building itself has a western style. It is still a bit more characteristic. Students interested in history can go in and have a look. We did not go in.
This is one of the three major museums in Japan, so don't miss it. There are some important Japanese artifacts to visit. His new museum is very modern and beautiful. The old one is the kind of classical baroque architecture.
The museum is divided into two parts: the old museum and the new one. The old one is the kind of classical western-style building. There is a small fountain in front. The new one is a kind of building with a very modern sense. I think it is ok.
