About Laizhou: Laizhou City is located in the northwest of the Liaodong Peninsula, facing Laizhou Bay and the Bohai Sea on the west. Major tourism destinations include Yunfeng (“Cloud Peak”) Mountain, Daji (“Large Base”) Mountain, Qianfoge (千佛阁 - “Thousand Buddha Pagoda”), and Huangjin (“Golden”) Beach. In addition to its natural scenery, Laizhou has many ancient sites of interest. Laizhou has been visited by many famous historical figures, who memorialized the place in word and poetry, including Qin dynasty founder Qin Shi Huang, General Han Xin, Emperor Wu of Han, Emperor Taizu of Song, and the poets Su Dongpo and Li Qingzhao. Laizhou also has many cultural destinations like the Suanyuanzi Neolithic archaeological site and the ruins of Shang era Shaqiucheng (商沙丘城).
