Westminster Abbey is also called the Collegiate Church of St. Peter at Westminster. Its status as a Church of England “Royal Peculiar” means it is used exclusively by the British royal family. No other church in England is as important and it is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Since 1066, nearly all important royal ceremonies have been held here. It served as the wedding venue for Prince William and Duchess Kate Middleton. Furthermore, the royal tombs of England are located here. Apart from members of the royal family, many important historical figures such as Sir Isaac Newton, Charles Darwin, Winston Churchill and, most recently, Stephen Hawking are also buried here.

St. Paul's Cathedral is a characteristic example of Baroque architecture and is known for its spectacular rounded dome. Looking up from the center of the building from the bottom up, the colorful painted ceiling is outstanding, especially the brilliant and gorgeous artwork above the inner choir seats and altar. There is also a whispering gallery in the church, where visitors can hear the whispers of people several meters away.

Located in the bustling city centre, St. Martin's Church in Birmingham is a typical example of Gothic Victorian architecture. From the outside it looks like St. Martin's church is a dark brownish red with dark black spires and dim light from the large glass windows. The ancient spires of the church are in stark contrast to the modern landmark Bullring Shopping Centre. The nearby business district is very lively.
