Libo (荔波) County, in southern Guizhou Province, is jurisdictionally part of the Qiannan Bouyei and Miao Autonomous Prefecture. The South China Karst, which includes Libo, was named a World Heritage Site in 2007, giving Libo the distinction of being the first World Natural Heritage Site in Guizhou. As home to a concentration of minority peoples, Libo is steeped in rich ethnic customs and traditions. Libo has been described as an emerald on the world's waistband. Main attractions here include the Shuichunhe (水春河) Gorge Scenic Area, the Zhangjiang (樟江) Scenic Area, the Daqikong (大七孔) Scenic Area, and the Xiaoqikong (小七孔) Scenic Area. The scenery here is truly magnificent.
The Libo Seven Small Arches Scenic Area is located among the karst peaks south of the Libo County urban area. The attraction gets its name from a seven-arched bluestone bridge that crosses the noisy river there. The site incorporates all the beauty of mountains, water, trees, caves, lakes, and waterfalls. This natural splendor has combined with the authentic cultural flavor of the Tujia and Yao people of the area to bring fame to the area. Attractions like the ancient seven-arched bridge, the water forest, the crouching dragon pool, and Mandarin Duck Lake make the area like an earthly fairyland.
Da Qikong (literally “seven holes”) is located in Libo County, Guizhou Province. The area is named after a bridge with seven arches over the Mengtang River. The main attractions include karst gorges and unusual rock formations. Visitors can go white water rafting and admire the steep cliffs. The picturesque rock faces are covered with stalactites and lush green trees.
This nature reserve is located in Guizhou Province's Libo County. The degree of commercialization in the scenic area is very low, and thus has maintained the dense original virgin forest. The karst landforms stand among the mountains, water, forests, caves, waterfalls and rocks. It is a wonderful place for catching a glimpse of untouched nature, while also serving as a paradise for outdoor sports enthusiasts.
Located at Bashang Vegetable Garden, South Gate of Yuping Town, Libo County, Qiannan Buyi and Miao Autonomous Prefecture, Libo Ancient Town was rebuilt on the site of Libo Stone City. The ancient town preserves the cultural characteristics of the four local ethnic minorities—Buyi, Shui, Miao and Yao—and combines the Hui-style architecture of the Ming and Qing Dynasties with garden art. It is a good place to relish the sentiment of the ancient town.
Tianshan Xueling Spruce Forest: A Poetic Vision of Landscape Painting
A great green wall built along the mountain, Tianshan Xueling Spruce Forest lies on the southern slope of Tianshan in Xinjiang Province, along the western portion of the Kunlun Mountains and Junggar Mountains. During the summer, Tianshan’s light green grasslands turn a dark green and the scattered houses and beautiful clouds complement one another as if in a landscape oil painting. As you take in the view, you’ll be able to feel a pleasant breeze caress your face and hear the pleasant sound of singing birds.
