The Red Mountain Fort was built in the Ming Zhengde period (AD 1521). There is an open space above the Tibetan Army Cave, surrounded by a city wall, a city gate and an urn city. This is Red Mountain Fort. Hongshan Fort and Tibetan Soldier Cave should belong to the same defense system. Unfortunately, Hongshan Fort now only has a fragmented rammed earth wall and an urn. There is also a newly built Great Wall Museum inside the fort.

The Hongshanbao Great Wall is a section of the Great Wall in the Shuidonggou Scenic Area, which separates the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region and the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region. From below to the city wall, it takes a long and very high steps. There you can see the scenery of Inner Mongolia on the opposite side. In fact, it also belongs to the scenic area, you can ride a camel, horseback, paraglider, desert surfing and so on.
