The Charity Temple Grotto was built for the emperors of the Sui and Tang dynasties to go to Linyou to spend the summer and do Buddhist things. On June 25, 2001, as a cultural relic of the Sui and Tang Dynasties, the Charity Temple Grotto was approved by the State Council to be included in the fifth batch of national key cultural relics protection units.

The Charity Temple Grotto is located on the bank of Qishui River in Linyou County, Baoji City, Shaanxi Province. It is a grotto built by the emperors and concubines and ministers of the Sui and Tang Dynasties when they visited the Jiucheng Palace to pay homage to the Buddha.
