Linze Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Apr)
Zhangye Danxia Geopark Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Apr)
You don't have to go to the northeast to see the snow!
The colorful Danxia and the white snow crisscross and spread
The sun shuttles between the canyons
Winter is the off-season for tourism in the northwest, but I really recommend you to come here!
⛰【Zhangye Colorful Danxia】
Ticket: 93/person (including sightseeing car)
Opening hours: 7:30-17:00
Traffic situation: The scenic area is tens of kilometers away from Zhangye city, remember to buy tickets from the north gate (if you just want to check in the Danxia landform, you can drive to the east gate, although you can't go into the main scenic area, but you can get it for free! Originally we planned to sneak in from the east gate to see the colorful Danxia and leave, but later decided to buy tickets to enter from the north gate)
The colorful Danxia sightseeing car will take you to 4 scenic spots
1st viewing point: Colorful Fairy Platform
Apart from being able to see the mountain up close, everything else is very ordinary
2nd viewing point: Colorful Cloud Sea Platform
You need to climb up by yourself, the view from the top of the mountain is particularly beautiful! It is also the viewing platform with the best view among these scenic spots! It's worth getting off the sightseeing car to check in!
3rd viewing platform: Colorful Brocade Platform
The sightseeing car driver said it was not good-looking, so only two or three of the 20 people on the sightseeing car got off to see it, our driver just drove us directly to the next scenic spot, we didn't go to see
4th viewing platform: Colorful Rainbow Platform
The viewing angle is multiple and beautiful, recommended for watching the sunset! You can climb up, compared to the second viewing platform, the scenery here will be more lively!
📝Note tips:
The winter activities here are basically all stopped, it's a pity not to get on the hot air balloon!
There is no need to buy a deep tour during the off-season, there are not many people in winter, there are 3 more scenic spots than the ordinary tour, but the price difference is not a little bit, if you don't want to queue for the sightseeing car and don't want to take pictures, you can consider the deep tour

🌋 Seven-Colored Danxia | Nature's Palette! ❗️
"Lonely Planet" 🌍 recommends it as one of the best travel destinations in Asia.
"National Geographic" 🌏 has named it one of the world's top ten geological wonders.
"Chinese National Geographic" 🇨🇳 describes it as "crazily picturesque" and one of China's most beautiful seven Danxia landforms.
📍It's none other than the Zhangye Danxia Landform in Gansu, China. 🏞️
Certainly, here's the improved translation with more emojis:
💰 Cost: 💳 Admission Ticket + 🚌 Bus fare for adults (🎫 93 ticket)
⏰ Best Time to Visit: The ideal time to witness the breathtaking Danxia landforms is right after the rain, as the dampness enhances the colors, making them even more vibrant and captivating. 🌦️🌈
🗺️ Route: Begin at the North Entrance and follow this route - Seven Color Xianyuan Platform, Seven Color Cloud Sea Platform, Seven Color Exquisite Platform, Seven Color Rainbow Platform, and exit through the North Entrance. (Enter and exit from the same gate) 🚪👣
🌟 1st Viewing Point: Seven Color Xianyuan Platform
Highlights: This platform is close to the mountain and offers a close-up view of the opposite mountains. Please note that there are no railings, so exercise caution. It's perfect for capturing full-body portraits. This is the first stop for most visitors, and it can get crowded below. To enjoy the best views with fewer crowds, head further up. 📸🌄
🌟 2nd Viewing Point: Seven Color Cloud Sea Platform
Highlights: This is the largest viewing platform and provides a panoramic view. It comes equipped with various facilities for dining and shopping. To reach the highest point, you'll need to allocate some time. Along the way, you'll find numerous platforms for viewing and resting. However, the most magnificent vistas are still from the mountain's peak, where you can take in several mountain ranges, offering the most extensive view. 🏞️🍔🛍️
🌟 3rd Viewing Point: Seven Color Exquisite Platform
Recommendation: We didn't visit this point, as we heard it doesn't offer impressive views. ❌👎
🌟 4th Viewing Point: Seven Color Rainbow Platform (Highly Recommended)
Highlights: Here, you'll find the most vibrant colors and perfect viewing angles. It's an exceptional spot to witness a sunset like no other. Be sure to visit just before the sun sets. During this time, with the sun at a lower angle, it beautifully illuminates the mountains, creating an extraordinary spectacle. On clear days, if you wait for about 10 minutes after sunset, you can witness a stunning evening glow. 🌅🌄🌟🌇

Real rainbow mountain!
As I stood before the majestic Mati Si, also known as the Horse Hoof Temple, I couldn't help but marvel at its uniqueness. Nestled on the rocky walls of a mountain in Zhangye, this Tibetan masterpiece stood as a testament to human artistry and devotion.
Unlike any other temple I had seen before, Mati Si seemed to defy gravity itself. The temple complex was intricately carved into the rugged cliffs, seemingly hanging on to the sheer rock face. It was a sight that left me in awe of the incredible human ingenuity and determination that went into creating such a remarkable structure.
As I explored the temple, the relaxed atmosphere engulfed me, transporting me into a realm of tranquility. The soft whispers of the wind caressed my face, carrying with it a sense of serenity that seemed to be inherent to this sacred place. The gentle rustling of the leaves and the distant sound of chanting monks created a symphony of peace that resonated deep within my soul.
Every step I took revealed intricate details etched into the rock walls. The vibrant colors of the frescoes depicted scenes from Tibetan Buddhism, telling stories of enlightenment, compassion, and spiritual journeys. The delicate sculptures of Buddhist deities seemed to come alive, their serene expressions radiating wisdom and tranquility.
As I reached the highest point of the temple, a breathtaking panoramic view unfolded before my eyes. The vast expanse of the surrounding landscape stretched out endlessly, the mountains standing tall and proud in the distance. It was a moment of pure bliss, a feeling of being connected to something greater than myself.
Mati Si was not just a temple; it was a place of pilgrimage, a sanctuary for those seeking solace and spiritual awakening. The combination of natural beauty and human craftsmanship made it a place of profound significance. It was a reminder that even amidst the chaos of the world, there are sanctuaries of peace and tranquility waiting to be discovered.
As I reluctantly left Mati Si, I carried with me a deep sense of gratitude for having experienced such a remarkable place. The memory of the hanging temple, the gentle whispers of the wind, and the awe-inspiring beauty would forever be etched in my heart. Mati Si truly was a hidden gem, a Tibetan masterpiece that left an indelible mark on my soul.

Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Apr)
Alxa One-Day Tour | Come and join the fun
Transportation: Self-driving/Chartered car Recommended to find a local guide for a chartered car
Route: Alxa Tengger Desert - Highway photography
Preparation before departure: Sunglasses, bring your own snacks and drinks (the food in the desert is not tasty)
We hired a local guide for a chartered car, the guide provided pick-up and drop-off service throughout the journey, which was efficient and safe
We set off at 10:00 AM to head for the desert, the drive took about 2 hours. Along the way, the guide also gave us a brief explanation of the sights we passed, stories of Alxa's history, and interesting cultural anecdotes. Soon we entered the desert (come and find the saxaul trees you planted). It's a novel experience to have small animals suddenly rush out to block the road, but this is also why I don't really recommend self-driving for safety reasons.
Upon reaching the Tengger Desert, we had to switch to an off-road vehicle. I don't understand how the driver could find his way in the seemingly identical sands. You can directly find a place to enjoy sand sliding in the desert.
A drone video of crossing the Five Lakes will be provided
Camel Lake: The bottom of the lake has pink mineral crystals, I curiously touched them
Ulan Lake: Coming in June-July, it's like the red heart of the Earth
Swan Lake: The intersection of desert and grassland is magical!
The scenery and experience along the way were fantastic! Welcome everyone to come and check it out too!

The Heart of Crossing the Desert - Alxa
🏜️ Badain Jaran Desert: Not only is it the second largest desert in China, but it is also a mysterious natural wonder, hailed as the 'Everest of Deserts'. Compared to the Tengger Desert, Badain Jaran is even more captivating with its more primitive, spectacular sand dunes and unique desert lakes. It is not only a paradise for desert enthusiasts, but also a dream destination for every traveler seeking the ultimate natural beauty.
🌊 Hong Hai Zi - The Heart of the Desert: In this arid land where water sources seem almost impossible, there are unexpectedly hundreds of colorful desert lakes, the most famous of which is Hong Hai Zi, pulsating like the heart of the Earth. They not only add a bright touch to the desert but also provide a rare photography haven for visitors.
🚗 Off-road Sand Rush Experience: In Badain Jaran, there is nothing more exciting than sitting in an off-road vehicle, breaking through the sand dunes, and experiencing a unique desert journey. The sand dunes here are higher, larger, and less traveled, making each sand rush full of the unknown and challenge.
🔍 Exploring the Secrets of the Desert: The Badain Jaran Desert is known as 'the curves drawn by God', with such beautiful scenery that it takes one's breath away. From the Bilutu sand peak to the pink lakes, each spot is a masterpiece meticulously carved by nature. In summer, the colors of the lakes are even more vivid, making it the best season for a desert exploration trip.
🚤 Recommended Route: From Xining to the Zhangye Danxia landform, then to Alxa Right Banner, and finally to the Badain Jaran Desert, the entire journey not only allows you to experience the magnificence of the desert but also the colorful culture and natural scenery along the way.
📌 Tips: Remember to bring motion sickness medicine, as the desert journey is bumpy; at the same time, carry enough sunscreen to protect your skin from strong sunlight.
Badain Jaran is not only an exploration of the desert but also a purification of the soul. Here, you can let go of worldly worries, engage in the most direct conversation with nature, and experience the rare tranquility and magnificence of life.

Reflection | It has controlled the soul's yearning for freedom
| It has controlled the soul's yearning for freedom. This heart-shaped red salt lake, known as Ulungur Lake, lies quietly in the depths of the Tengger Desert within the territory of Alxa Left Banner, Alxa League, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. The Mongolians call it 'Ulan Nur', meaning 'Red Lake'. There was a time when Ulungur Lake was obscure, just one of the more than four hundred lakes in the Tengger Desert, silently passing centuries in the depths of the sandy sea. There are many salt lakes in Tengger, with colors of blue, green, yellow... The local Elute Mongolian herders affectionately call them Kuknur, Huhunur, Xilannur, etc. Ulungur Lake was also once unknown, and even when the herders passed by herding camels and sheep, they would only glance at it briefly.
However, the charm of Ulungur Lake lies in its uniqueness. The surrounding terrain is flat, without any sand dunes or other high points, and for hundreds of years, no one had looked down upon this lake from the air. Until one day, a group of donkey friends broke into this desert. They operated drones to take to the sky, and Ulungur Lake, composed of a large irregular lake and several small lakes strung together like pearls, suddenly stunned the world. The snow-like white salt-alkali rock slabs outline countless small pools, and the rose-like gorgeous lake water diffuses among them. Under the sunlight, it reflects a charming luster, like a heart throbbing in the Tengger Desert. Perhaps it would be more appropriate to call it 'Zhurihe Nur' (Heart Lake).

Huachen International hotel Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Apr)
Traveling the Hexi Corridor in the Off-Season: Zhangye Edition
During the off-season, the Hexi Corridor is truly 'vast and sparsely populated'. There's no need to queue anywhere, hotels are cheap, tickets are free or half-price, and the daytime temperature is above zero. It's quite comfortable when the sun is out, making it very worthwhile!
This trip to the Hexi Corridor included Zhangye, Jiayuguan, and Dunhuang, with this guide focusing on Zhangye.
👉Pre-trip Preparation: Watch the documentary 'The Hexi Corridor' to understand the background and directly pick places you want to visit; recommended book 'The Great History of Dunhuang'
👉Travel Gear: Scarf, hat, snow boots, a set of autumn clothes, a thin sweater, a thick down jacket, a pair of autumn trousers, a pair of down pants
👉Major Transportation: We departed from Guangzhou in the early morning, flew to Xining, and then took a high-speed train for about two hours to Zhangye
🚘Local Transportation: We booked a one-day tour of Zhangye on Ctrip (including the day's car fare from the hotel to Matisi and the Rainbow Danxia, a five-seater sedan, 142 yuan per person)
🏪Hotel: Recommend Zhangye Huachen International Hotel, impeccable service, basically the most upscale locally, the snow mountain view room is less than three hundred yuan per day;
🌅Tickets: Matisi currently waives the first ticket, which is the ticket to the Thousand Buddha Caves. Visiting the Thirty-Three Heavens Grottoes and special caves No. 1-4 requires an additional fee, costing just over a hundred; Rainbow Danxia tickets are 95 yuan per person
👉Strategy:
1. The first day of the journey is all on the road;
2. Matisi: Depart at 8:30 on the second day to Matisi, the journey takes more than an hour. Since the sunrise is late, you can see the unique beauty of the sunlight shining on the Qilian Mountains on the way; Matisi has three key points of interest, the Thirty-Three Heavens Grottoes are highly recommended, but you need to climb in very small tunnels, so wear clothes that are easy to move in; special caves No. 1-4 are very small, and there were no other visitors when we went, we had the place to ourselves, the ticket checker is also the guide, if you need an explanation, just go find her; the caves near the Thousand Buddha Caves are hard to climb, especially the 90-degree ones, don't try it lightly if you don't have rock climbing experience (to experience the hardship of the former Qin hermit Guo Yu's teachings, I almost got stuck in a vertical cave and couldn't get down...)
3. Zhangye Rainbow Danxia: After lunch, head to the Rainbow Danxia. Since Zhangye had just had snow, we thought there would only be one color left in the Rainbow Danxia, but surprisingly, half of the snow had melted, making the Rainbow Danxia under the white snow even more beautiful. Make sure to visit at sunset;
4. Zhangye Giant Buddha Temple: On the third day, we took the noon car to Jiayuguan, and in the morning, we had time to visit the Giant Buddha Temple in the city, the largest reclining Buddha in Asia, very impressive!
🥗Food: Recommend the local rolled chicken and apricot peel tea, the glutinous corn is also very good; breakfast shops open later in winter, it is recommended to have breakfast at the hotel.

Gangkashi Snow Peak Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Apr)
Explore the infinite charm of Qinghai's C-position city—Haibei!
Qinghai, this mysterious and beautiful plateau province, has a C-position city that is fascinating—Haibei. Speaking of this city, everyone must feel very niche, yes! It is indeed niche, but it has magnificent natural scenery and deep Tibetan cultural heritage, and it is also a place where many travelers yearn for. 😍 After I went, I found out that it is really beautiful here! Companions really have time to explore!
~
⚠Small tips
When traveling to Haibei, there are a few small tips to note
✔Transportation: It is recommended to rent a car for self-driving, which is more convenient, but due to the complex road conditions, it is recommended that experienced drivers drive, which can explore the scenery of Haibei more deeply
✔Climate change: The climate on the plateau is changeable, the temperature difference between day and night is large, and warm clothing and sun protection products are essential
~
🌿Recommended scenic spots to check in
1⃣Qilian Mountain Grassland
It is a dazzling pearl in Haibei, with magnificent natural scenery and rich tourist resources🏞. Walking into the Qilian Mountain Grassland, you will be shocked by the endless green, as if you are in a fairyland.
⚠Riding a horse on the grassland is also a good choice, but safety should be noted.
2⃣Zhuoer Mountain Scenic Area
The Zhuoer Mountain Scenic Area is located in Qilian County, with majestic mountains⛰, vast grasslands and mysterious Tibetan buildings. Climbing Zhuoer Mountain and overlooking the entire scenic area, you will be shocked by the beautiful scenery in front of you.
⚠There is a 360-degree viewing platform in the Zhuoer Mountain Scenic Area, where you can overlook the spectacular scenery of the entire scenic area.
3⃣Menyuan Hundred Miles Rapeseed Flower Sea Scenic Area
Located in Menyuan County, Haibei Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, it is a scenic spot known for its spectacular rapeseed fields and beautiful natural scenery. 💐When the rapeseed flowers here are in full bloom, it is like a golden ocean, the scenery is very spectacular, and in the summer season, walking into Menyuan Hui Autonomous County, Qinghai, 🖼 is like walking into a naturally formed oil painting. The photos are very good, and girls can wear fresh dresses to look beautiful!
4⃣Gangshika Snow Peak
The Gangshika Snow Peak towers over the Cold Dragon Mountain, and the Gangshika Snow Peak is the highest peak here! It is also the location of the film "The Climbers"! The scenery is very charming in winter, and the waterfall here forms an ice waterfall after freezing. Under the sunlight, 💦 the ice waterfall refracts colorful colors, and the photos are really good📸.
⚠The road to the top of the mountain is all mountain roads, everyone drive carefully
Haibei is a city full of charm and charm, a niche treasure city! If you haven't been here, you can really find a holiday to come once!
emmeline_athenawilde
The snowy peaks of the Gangshika in the great northwest are so impressive!
I've dreamed a million times of the summit of the snowy mountains, and now I stand here, gazing at the snowy mountains right before my eyes, with the journey at my feet, yet I find myself unable to take the steps forward. They say the meaning of climbing is not just the vanity and satisfaction of reaching the summit, but the confidence to walk on the path of climbing, with a sparkle in your eyes and hope in your heart. For climbers, who doesn't covet the vanity of the summit, the scenery from the top! Who isn't advancing bravely towards the goals in their heart? Human nature is just like this! Who would give up without trying everything possible?
We distance ourselves from the prejudices of the marketplace, hide from the turmoil of the city, not talking about fame and profit, here we come to set ourselves free. No matter the age, we see ourselves as naive children, becoming the heroes in our own eyes. Regardless of poverty or wealth, we find joy and freedom, enriching our inner selves. To interact with others with happiness and sincerity is also a pursuit!
Fellow travelers with golden waves, dreams entwined with snowy mountains, watching over the snow peaks!

Gangshika Snow Peak
If mountains could speak, would their first words to you be 'I have waited for you for a long time'? And would my first words upon seeing you be 'Long time no see'? The blue icefalls crush the eyes, the last tenderness between the mountains under the blowing of the north wind. The first glimpse, like a last glance, brings so many emotions surging to my heart, abrupt yet powerless. One side is black, the other white. The sun says I have given my favor to the southern girl. A pretentious flower rushes to the mountain top, blooming in the most passionate way on the glacier, with light and ceaseless motion. Collecting a liter of tears from the broken-hearted, a liter of endless sorrow from those who have lost their only child, burying them at the mountain top with a smile. You all are blessed people. I am at the Gangshika Snow Peak, at an altitude of three thousand meters, praying for you. It will take effect tomorrow, lasting for thirty thousand days, don't be greedy. Just run, move forward, be unrestrained, and chase all fantasies and shatterings. I have piled up a Mani stone heap for you in front of the deity of the snow peak, with solemnity, redemption, and full of joy. You all are blessed people, including me.
