The Zhangye Danxia landform is located in Zhangye City in the middle section of the Hexi Corridor in Gansu Province. It is a county in the four counties of Hexi. It is the meaning of broken Xiongnu, Zhang Chinas (). Zhangye Danxia landform is in the hilly area of 50 square kilometers, with a strange shape, colorful and magnificent Danxia landform. Danxia refers to the isolated mountain peaks and steep rock formations formed by long-term weathering stripping and water erosion. The Danxia landform here is developed from about the previous Jurassic to the Tertiary about 200 million years ago.
