Pushkin Theater

Some people say: "If Red Square is the heart of Moscow, then Pushkin Square is the soul of Moscow." Pushkin Square is located in the center of Moscow, formerly known as Ascetic Square, because there was an ascetic monastery on the square. In 1937, to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the death of the great Russian poet Pushkin, the square was renamed "Pushkin Square". On the square stands a 4-meter-high memorial statue of Pushkin; the Russian masses love the poet, donate money to build the memorial statue, and solicit design patterns. Later, the pattern of the engraver Opekushin, who won the title of "super artist", was used. With his left hand behind his back and his right hand in front of his chest, his melancholy eyes looked into the distance, as if he was meditating. The unveiling ceremony of the statue was held on July 18, 1880. A poem by Pushkin is engraved on the base of the memorial statue, "In this cruel century, I sang freedom, and I also prayed for mercy and sympathy for those who were stagnant." The bench of Pushkin's monument is always full of people. There are people, men and women, young and old. Every June 6th, the birthday of Pushkin, a large number of poetry lovers and Pushkin fans will gather from all directions to the street gardens on both sides of Pushkin Square. They hold flowers and poems and stand on the statue of Pushkin from morning to night. Before reciting Pushkin's poems, and exchange their own poems with each other. Little knowledge: Alexander Sergeyevich Pushkin (1799-1837) is a great poet of the Russian nation, known as "the sun of Russian poetry" and "the father of Russian literature", and occupies a special position in Russian culture. He was born on June 6, 1799, and his masterpieces include "Napoleon", the fairy tale poem "The Tale of the Fisherman and the Goldfish", the novella "Queen of Yellow Peach", and the novel "The Captain's Daughter".
