The food still remains fantastic. The best California rolls in town. The salmon melts in your mouth. Quite reasonable for sushi.
Kinda hole in the wall but clearly has it’s regulars. Meeting a couple friends out on this side of Northridge and they recommended it. The sushi bar was filled and we sat at a table. Nothing fancy about Omino but it was quite good, especially if you’re in the area. Good staff. Good Sashimi Quick service Reasonable price Yes, We’d return but only if in the area.
This is the go-to local sushi house for us. I have been a client for their entire 25 years. Omino Chan and his lovely wife Yoshiko are celebrating their Anniversary tonight and I am so happy to join them. Always service with a smile and their traditional approach to Japanese sushi is commendable. Yes you can get a few non-traditional dishes but they shine on the basics. Their specialty dish is their gindara miso also called butterfish. It is simply sublime. It's always fresh and you will never be disappointed. Happy Anniversary Omino!
Discovered Omino's when I moved to the neighborhood 20 years ago and although I moved away long ago I still return for their outstanding sushi because I've never found a better place in the city. Their fish is always fresh and of outstanding quality, a given in any fine sushi bar. But so is everything else, from the proportion of rice to fish, to the rice itself. Some places make their rice noticeably sweet, I think to mask the quality of their fish, but not Omino. I've never had a bad item, let alone meal, there. Love the ahi sashimi, soft shell crab, and when they have it, the raw scallops and white salmon. Good selection of sake as well. Just be prepared to wait if you want to sit at the sushi bar.
