The price is reasonable, the service is good, the food is delicious, I really like this place.

Sassafras Saloon

This place is awesome. My friend took me here and described it as &quot;his local hangout&quot;. He couldn&#39;t have picked a better spot. It was nicely located, and easy for us to find parking around 10PM on a Saturday Night. Inside the place feels like some cool bar with a retro theme. The area that we saw was cut up into to rooms. One with a dance/band area complete with disco ball and DJ spot. The other was a more traditional long bar with some booths and tables nearby. At the long bar they had a movie from the late 60s playing complete with subtitles for those uninterested in socializing. And it wasn&#39;t a stupid movie either. It was Dark of the Sun. Totally Metal! We had already been out for a while and this was stop number 5 for us. I had to stop drinking around 11:30. The bartender was awesome and got me a glass or water and kept it topped off. He was also super attentive to his customers and was making some great looking drinks with awesome skill. The volume is side was just right, the lighting was right, the prices were right. This place is a gem!

Loved this cute little venue! It may not have looked much from the outside - but once inside, the mixture of cosy, authentic and urban cool won me over. The colorful flower arrangements in red and pink hues disposed on each table really stood out and contributed in creating a fresh, romantic set up. I liked my Chilcano cocktail (pisco, ginger beer and fresh lemon juice) although it could have been served a tiny bit more chilled on this hot LA evening. The food was fabulous: the ceviche had the spice and zest I always long for, the chicken anticucho was moist and flavorful (and large for an appetizer), the lomo saltado was just the right balance between well cooked, seasoned and tender. Service was super efficient and friendly. Atmosphere was quiet at first but exploded in enthusiastic chatter at about 8pm. Being a Latin music fan, I loved the background music playlist composed of the best of classic salsa tunes. Overall we had a super experience at Los Balcones. The only thing that was a bit of a shame is that they brought all the dishes we ordered at the same time, instead of one by one (or at least appetizers before main course). As such, there wasn&#39;t enough time to savor each dish by itself and appreciate its intricate flavoring. The meal felt a bit rushed (we didn&#39;t want the hot dishes to get cold) when it could have been leisurely and a greater feast for the palate. So make sure to specify in which order/ at what rhythm they should bring over your food.

This interesting restaurant offers a variety of burgers, fries, sandwiches, salads, mac &#39;n cheese and desserts. We tried a variety of burgers and sandwiches, all of which were very tasty. There are a wide variety of fries, including the four we tried: standard, animal style, siracha, and jalopeno. The mac &#39;n cheese was so-so. Interestingly, you can order some vegan cheese items with &quot;real&quot; cheese. The restaurant serves beer.
