Gahai is located in Gahai Township, Luqu County, Gannan, about 36 kilometers away from Langmusi. Gahai Lake is the largest freshwater lake in Gannan. Every sunny day, the blue sky and white clouds are reflected in the water, which is very beautiful. Gahai Lake is also a bird sanctuary, where black swans, egrets, geese and ducks and other waterbirds live here every summer. In July and August, the lake is full of colorful wildflowers, and the scenery is beautiful. The entire Gahai Lake has a large area, and the part developed as a scenic spot is located on the north side. Although the lake can be seen from other places, it is difficult to get close and the scenery is average. There is a sightseeing car from the gate of the scenic spot to the plank road by the lake. After that, you can play along the plank road. You can walk to the lake and return from the other side. The whole play time is about 1-2 hours. The grasslands of Gahai are open and flat, and the scenery is beautiful. Every summer, the wildflowers are very dense and very beautiful. There is a big rock in the middle of the grassland, with the words "Gahai Lake" written in Chinese and Tibetan languages, you can take pictures. Approaching the lake along the grassland, a small two-story building was built by the lake, with an observation deck on the top. When you board the observation deck, you can see Gahai Lake, which is full of blue waves. Although the lake surface is not as blue and clear as many plateau lakes, the reflection in the lake still makes people feel relaxed and happy, especially on sunny days. The scenery is very beautiful. On the observation deck, you can also see many water birds roaming in the lake, and the pictures of birds settling in the air and diving for fishing are very interesting. After shooting at the observation deck, you can return to the entrance of the scenic spot along the plank road. The location of Gahai is on the side of the road from Labrang Monastery to Langmusi. There are few special trips to visit Gahai, and most of them come by the way when visiting Gannan. There is no suitable accommodation near the Gahai Sea. Generally, tourists will go to the next stop after a simple visit, and stay at Langmusi or Labrang Monastery.
