The Church of Our Lady of Amudna is built on the Roman walls of Madrid's oldest historical site, facing the Royal Palace. The two imposing buildings form a picture of the human landscape in Madrid. The first architect of the cathedral, Marqus de Cubas, began construction work in 1883. His intention was to build a neo-gothic-style church with a steep spire, just like the popular European style at the end of the 19th century, but Due to the Spanish Civil War had to stop working. It was not until 1950 that the new architects resumed construction and the new architects continued to build until 1993. According to the architectural plan, the church is built in neo-Gothic style, retaining the characteristics of some Gothic churches on the flank, and the main body is taken from the Baroque architecture, using a semi-circular blue-gray dome design. The body is transparent and white, adding elegance and elegance.
