Constructed in 1969 from the stylized work of Leandro Locsin, this magnificent building stands out among its surroundings in Pasay City, Philippines. The middle features a large theater that seats 1,400 and hosts top notch stage performances by a slew of artists including the Royal Shakespeare Company and the Philippines' own world-renowned Bayanihan Dance Company. A smaller theater is also housed within the center, featuring smaller acts and recitals. For more avant-garde performances, the center also contains a third stage, the Huseng Batute Theater. When I walked along Manila Bay, I found this cultural center. I am fascinated because it was the flagship of the Philippines in the 1960s. At that time, the Philippines was the fastest growing country in Asia. The cultural center has magnificent buildings and is well worth a visit. At different times of the year, there are various festivals, plays, musical performances, etc. It's nice to look around. If you love architecture, come and visit CCP. For tourists, it is best to choose to come here on a certain festival, like Pasinaya or Fringe, but there are always some bad things happening in the theater here.
