If you come to western Sichuan, please be sure to leave at least 1-2 days for Litang, especially Genie‼️ Although western Sichuan is very cold in winter, there are few tourists. During the New Year period, we set off from Litang County and drove westward. There were almost no tourists along the way, especially on the day of the Genie loop, we even chartered all the attractions. 🚗 It takes about two and a half hours to drive from Litang County to Genie Town. Although it is all country roads, they are all newly paved roads, very wide and easy to drive. We drove round and round along the mountain roads of the country roads until we reached the 4800-meter blacksmith mountain pass. The Genie Mountain suddenly appeared in front of us, and the huge 'pressure' made us scream, it was so beautiful and spectacular‼️ 🏠 When you arrive at the entrance of Genie Town, you need to sign a 'Forest Grassland Fire Prevention Reminder' (required to be signed from October 1st to June 30th of the following year) and you can go in. There will be a fork in the road ahead, with two roads on the left and right. The road sign indicates to go to the 'Eye of Genie' to the left, but in fact both roads are passable. The road on the left is newly built and easier to walk, and the right will pass through the old mountain dirt road. 💡It is recommended that you can walk a small loop without looking back. We first went to the right and drove counterclockwise. Don't miss these places along the way⬇️ 📍Yilaka Peak Viewing Platform A white building similar to 'abandoned' on the hillside, the car can drive directly onto the platform, where you can enjoy the 'Genie Mountain' and the adjacent 'Kameron Peak' at close range. 📍Genie Nature Center Continue driving and you will see several small wooden houses, which are very rich in framing with the snow-capped mountains and mountain ranges, and are very suitable for catching shots. 📍Xiaze Tong Village There is a hot spring hotel here, which is not open in winter, but you can drive in. There are many sulfur stones by the creek, and you can take pictures on the shore. 📍Eye of Genie To protect this 'eye to heaven', cars can no longer be driven in, and can only be walked in from outside. The water level of the Eye of Genie in winter is very low, and ice has formed. 📍Zeba Village The long creek is reflected under the distant 'Kameron Peak', the white noise of the water flow is very decompressing, and the sun shines on the water surface. 🌄At sunset, we returned to Litang County. The setting sun slanted and formed beautiful light and shadow. We climbed up the hill along the small road next to Litang Temple. This is a good place to watch the sunset. There are no obstructions around, and you can overlook the county town. The view is very wide, and the setting sun shines on the building into a warm orange color, with a gentle feeling. Looking back, you can see the full view of Litang Temple behind you, with orange and golden light, brilliant but not dazzling. 📍Litang Temple is also called 'Changqing Chunkeer Temple', located on the hillside of Zhongmolaka Mountain about 1 kilometer north of the county town. The place where we watch the sunset is on a small road to the right of the temple entrance, climbing up the hill + steps to the top of the hill, about 5 minutes. If you don't drive here, there are actually several places around where you can walk up. The road is less, but the dirt slope is a bit steep, and there is no place to park, so it is most convenient to locate at Litang Temple. 🌄The sun will be blocked by the distant mountains first, and enter the twilight time in advance. The whole hillside is quiet and gentle, looking forward to coming to Litang next time and taking a good tour of the county town. 📅Recommended Litang 2️⃣ day tour loop⬇️ Day 1 Arrive at Litang County➡️Tour Litang Day 2 Litang County➡️Genie Loop Self-driving➡️Litang Temple to watch the sunset 🏨There are many accommodations in Litang County, the conditions are relatively good, and you can also order takeout. If you want to explore Genie in depth, you can also live in the homes of local residents, about a few dozen yuan a night.

The final destination of the Sichuan West Grand Circuit - the South Line of Ge'nyen, finally came into view. This approximately 260-kilometer cross route connects Litang and Batang, with snow-capped mountains and alpine meadows along the way, fulfilling all fantasies about the Sichuan West region. We set off from Batang and passed the D6 Batang-Chachong West Village section. Along the mountain road, we first crossed the Zawala Pass at an altitude of 5020 meters and arrived at Bomi Township. Although this section is a two-lane cement road, the road conditions are steep and winding, and there are risks of falling rocks and landslides in many places, requiring careful driving. After leaving Bomi Township, we continued to cross the Laozhe Longba Pass (4700 meters), and suddenly the Ge'nyen Sacred Mountain appeared in front of us, giving a strong visual shock. Standing on the viewing platform, you can overlook the entire canyon, the scenery is magnificent. Afterwards, we went downhill all the way through the Redi River Valley and finally arrived at the campsite in Chachong West Village. The last ten kilometers are pothole-like bad roads, and the road conditions are quite difficult. The campsite has a small shop, provides tents, and faces the south slope of the Ge'nyen Sacred Mountain. You can enjoy the most beautiful starry sky at night. The next day, we set off from Chachong West Village, and the road conditions of most sections are relatively good. Passing through the Xin Leng Ancient Temple and the Eye of Ge'nyen, we finally crossed the Tieshan Pass at an altitude of 4770 meters. Tieshan is desolate and lifeless. In the end, we returned to Litang and found a place to stay. Through this journey, I deeply felt the charm and magnificent scenery of the South Line of the Sichuan West Grand Circuit. This is an unforgettable trip that makes people linger.

Day1️⃣: Navigation📍: Xiaze Tong Village, Ge Nie Town, Litang County, start at nine o'clock in the morning from the big lawn in front of the hot spring hotel, park on the lawn, hike 14 kilometers, not much climbing, the road is basically lawn, beautiful scenery, arrive at the camp at about 6 o'clock in the evening, altitude 4300m, the tent faces the snow mountain, the sunset falls behind the mountain in the evening, there is a halo, very beautiful, you can see the sunrise over the golden mountain in the morning. Day2️⃣: Start at ten o'clock in the morning, all the way to the snow mountain, when taking pictures on the top of the slope and going down the mountain, a teammate suddenly forgot to take the climbing stick, turned back to find and accidentally found white alpine snow tea, really lucky, there are also a few teenagers riding motorcycles on the top of the mountain to set up tents to enjoy the scenery, the scenery is very good. Arrive at the lawn in front of Lenggu Temple in the afternoon for camping⛺️, altitude about 4100m, the camp has a network, hike 11 kilometers. Day3️⃣: Start at eleven thirty today, climb up the big lawn under Ge Nie Peak, there is a lone tree🌳, the scenery is particularly good, and also met two little boys who lost their horses, the two also rode a horse for a while under the snow mountain, very passionate. The weather started to get bad in the afternoon, thunder and lightning, rain and hail, in the end we decided to retreat to the pasture below for a night, and left the next day. After arriving at the pasture, the camp can also see the snow mountain🏔, the camp altitude is 4300m, and there are herdsmen selling fresh pure milk🥛 in the evening, original flavor, tastes pretty good, hiked 9 kilometers today. Day4️⃣: In the morning, I got milk from the first herdsman down the mountain, who is the family of the horse-riding teenager. They invited us to drink milk. We wanted to give them some $, but they didn't have a payment code, so we had to give up and left our snacks for them, and then we left the mountain. After getting down to the foot of the mountain, we unloaded our bags and waited for our teammates to come back to pick us up. We left a car🚗 at the end point. ✨Reminder: The overall difficulty is not high, mostly meadows.
