The galloping Minjiang River has formed a very large dammed lake here, surrounded by mountains and beautiful natural scenery. It was formed during a major earthquake in the Republic of China, and the bustling ancient town of Diexi was dammed by the earthquake overnight. The lake was flooded and almost no one escaped.
The barrier lake formed by the great earthquake in 1933 is free.
The toilet on the roadside was built by the locals, and the charge is 1 yuan.
There are also some shops.
The scenery of Diexi Haizi is average, with a viewing platform and white yaks for tourists to take photos for a fee.
Diexi Haizi is located in Maoxian County, Aba Tibetan and Qiang Autonomous Prefecture, the largest settlement of Qiang ethnic group in China, at the foot of Min Mountain, the upper reaches of Minjiang River. It is a unique scenic route along the Jiuzhaigou and Huanglong Tourism, a World Natural Heritage Site.
On the way to Jiuzhaigou, I happened to encounter this plateau lake-Diexi Haizi, which was formed by the big earthquake in the bright sun. It was shining in the sunshine, and the long-distance fatigue was put down at this moment.
On the way from Chengdu to Jiuzhaigou, you must pass through Maoxian County and Diexi Haizi. The bus stops and rests there and you can see the scenery of Haizi. There is only one viewing platform, and locals bring white yaks to solicit photos. There are also vendors selling all kinds of mountain products. According to the tour guide, there is a lot of pepper and pepper in that place, so you can buy some to take back, and other...you are happy.
