What people are saying:

The exterior wall of the courtyard of the Marrakesh Museum Museum of Marrakesh has red bricks and is clearly marked on the outside. The locals know MUSEUM and it is easy to find. The museum is an Arab-style courtyard, surrounded by large carved pillars, the ground marble pattern is elegant and fine, and a large pool is the standard configuration of this kind of courtyard. The tour guide said that the main house is generally a place for chanting, and the outside is a pool for the believers to clean, and it is now dry. The large chandelier in the middle is very eye-catching, and the huge lampshade is made of wire. Very delicate. The interior is surrounded by stone carvings and wood carvings, geometric patterns, symmetrical and detailed. The museum does not have many exhibits, there are some photos and objects. This ancient courtyard is holding a modern art exhibition, and some exhibits and paintings are very modern, which adds a lively atmosphere to this old mansion. There is an open-air cafe in the museum yard, but it hadn't opened the door until noon when we left. There is a small shop in the yard. The postcards on display show the perfect view of Marrakech. Tickets are 50MAD per person (1RMB=1.46MAD). After asking the ticket office about the information about the package online, I was told that it was no longer implemented.

    Pretty rooms but limited descriptions

Entry of 50 dirhams is reasonable, however all the descriptions are in French and Arabic only. There are no English descriptions. There are some very pretty tilework and art. I wouldn't say this is a ...

    Something for somebody inexperienced

Might sound pompous, but in reviewing sights, honesty is the best policy. If you've never been to a museum, haven't seen Moroccan artifacts or been in a building of the same era and style, this might ...

Worth a visit for the building, but very little in way of museum exhibits; lovely little courtyard cafe

We were rather disappointed with the museum, as there are very few exhibits and the only explanations in Arabic and French (no English), so lucky I speak French. The central courtyard or 'patio' is th...

    Beautiful house

A beautiful home and a nice introduction into Marroco's life. Very eclectic collection: costumes, jewellery, ceramics and much more. But main interest is the building.

if you are nearby do visit

We came upon this museum and went in. The building was very beautiful with some interesting artefacts. There was a young man doing Arabic calligraphy with ones names for a small fee, fascinating.

The former Marrakesh Museum was a palace that was built to withstand the invasion of foreign enemies and was an Andalusian building. The exterior walls of the Marrakech Museum are brick red and clearly marked outside. The museum is an Arabian-style courtyard surrounded by large carved pillars. The ground marble is elegant and delicate, and a large pool is standard on this courtyard. The current museum mainly exhibits Moroccan art, and can see celebrity paintings, sculptures and cultural works by Berbers and Arabs.
