What people are saying:

I have always liked the music of Australian-born Percy Grainger, and I often play in the band, so when I visit Australia, visiting the museum he established at the University of Melbourne is my top priority. Before leaving, I subscribed to the museum newsletter (free) and communicated with a senior staff member. Part of the museum is focused on Grainger, and the other part is dedicated to temporary exhibitions. In this case, Grainger’s singer and colleague Nellie Melba was selected. In the more than two hours in the museum, I got to know both musicians and many people. The exhibition includes musical instruments, original manuscripts, recording equipment, Grainger painting samples, bead works and costume designs, awards and other souvenirs. There are headphones so that people can hear some of his music, and there are also CDs and other goods on sale.

A gem - utterly fascinating and moving

This is an 'autobiographical museum' of one of Australia's greatest musicians. He built, curated and funded it himself, and supplied all the material - some of this extremely personal, to illustrate a...
