1️⃣ State Library of Victoria It is one of the largest libraries in the world and the oldest public library in Australia. With its unique charm, it has become an online celebrity check-in place in Melbourne. Personally, the biggest reason is that the design of the reading room on the first floor of the library is unique. Eight long tables radiating from the center divide the reading room into many spaces, so looking down from the upper floor to the first floor will feel very unique. 🎫Tickets: free; ⌚️Opening hours: Monday to Thursday 10:00-21:00, Friday to Sunday 10:00-18:00 2️⃣Puffing Billy Steam Train As one of the best preserved steam trains in the world, this has also become a popular attraction in Melbourne. The little train will lead you through the Dandenong Mountains. Due to safety issues, it is now not allowed to hang two legs outside the carriage. The entire ride time is about half an hour. At all intersections, there will be locals waiting for the red lights to wave to you. If you are interested, you can come and experience it. 🎫Ticket: 59 AUD round trip ⌚️Departure time: 10:30, 11:10, 12:30, 14:30
One of the largest library in the world. Magnificent architecture for this amazing place. A place where in every square meter you can appreciate what incredible thing is the culture, the art, the literature. Very interesting the sections around the dome with several topics related to Melbourne and Australia. And finally the balcony at level 6 where you can have a wonderful view of the dome. Definitively a must go during your stay in Melbourne.
Amazing state library in Melbourne, Australia. Huge, encompassing, and educational in its history, culture, and academics towards students, the locals, and tourists alike. The library housed many exhibits for people to lean the history of of Australia, the notorious robber Ned Kelly, and books throughout history. You can spend hours in the library just exploring. As for the architecture, it's beautiful and a work of modern art in the interior! Great place to visit as a tourist and best of all, Melbourne Walking Tours start at the library as the meeting point!
The State Library of Victoria is a must visit for tourists. The building is beautiful both on the outside and inside. You don't have to pay an entry fee to the library, but there are occasionally paid exhibits and tours. This is great for those who are on a budget.I strongly recommend getting yourself lost in the library's inner architecture. Ever room has its own charm and unique details that tell a story about the history of Victoria. After you have finished, you have to eat lunch on the grass outside. Your trip to Melbourne won't be complete if you don't chill out, out front of the Library.
