Came on July 23, 2014. I came here mainly to visit Ma Bufang's former residence, especially "Xinxuan". I saw that the exterior walls were all jade as building materials. It can be imagined that Ma Bufang had many scenery in the northwest. The whole residence is quite complete, basically maintaining the original appearance, if you have the opportunity to visit, it is still not to be missed.

Located in the eastern district of Xining City, very close to Xining Station, it is the private residence of the Republic of China warlord Ma Bufang, named "Xinyi". Now changed to Qinghai Folk Custom Museum. It is the only official residence built in jade in the country. Tickets are 30 yuan. Each courtyard and important hall houses have secret roads connected to each other. Worth visiting.

There are some ethnic costume photo services and souvenirs for sale in the yard, but the content is simple and the price is not cheap. Generally, the time to visit here is about 1-2 hours. The gate of Ma Bufang Mansion is on the east side. From the entrance, you will first come to the east courtyard of the Mansion. The east courtyard is divided into the front yard and the middle yard, which can be visited one by one. As soon as you walk into the yard, you can see the old building with unified style here. There are carved murals on the walls, which are very exquisite. The front yard is the place where Ma's family used to receive guests. There are VIP halls, jade halls, east and west halls, etc. The halls show some old photos and calligraphy and paintings, etc. You can simply visit to understand the history. Among them, the jade hall is the most special, the interior and exterior walls of the whole building are made of jade, very luxurious. In the middle of the front yard, there is also a 1942 American jeep, now tourists can wear military uniforms to take pictures with them, but there is an additional charge. The central courtyard is where Ma Bufang family members live, with several bedrooms and small reception rooms. The most striking thing in the central courtyard is a huge, strange-shaped Taishi chair carved from the roots of a century-old tree, and tourists often go up to sit and take pictures. In addition, there is a huge jade monument in the park, engraved with the word "Xinxuan" inscribed by the president of the National Government Lin Sen, which is also the official name of the mansion. After visiting the middle hospital, you can walk into the yard on the southwest side. This small courtyard is also called the South Building. It was once a son-in-law building, a place where female guests and servants live and stay. It was previously absolutely forbidden for men to enter. Now the small courtyard has been opened as a folk museum, showing some Qinghai minority costumes, as well as items and clothing that Ma Bufang family used in the year, you can visit. Follow the south courtyard and then go to the northeast side, there is a small garden, a room, a security building, etc., you can see the ancient water mill and oil mill and other facilities, and there are tunnels in other yards (the tunnel can only be visited outside, not inside), you can simply visit.
