About Mianxian: Mian County is located in southern Shaanxi Province, on the western end of the Hanzhong Basin. It is under the administration of Hanzhong City. The county accumulated a lot of history and culture through the two Han dynasties and Three Kingdoms era. This long history has left behind many important cultural sites. The Neolithic archaeological site here is quite large and productive, a rare source of such cultural remains in the Hanzhong region. Mian County also boasts the Wuhou Tomb, the tomb of one of China’s historically preeminent politicians and military leaders, Zhuge Liang (181-234), who was also prime minister of the Shu Han kingdom during the Three Kingdoms Period. The Wuhou Temple is also China’s earliest built for Zhu and the only one built by imperial edict. Other county attractions include the marvelously constructed Bao River plank road (褒河栈道).
