What people are saying:

Ritai Temple is a testimony of the mutual influence of Thai and Japanese Buddhism. It was first built to enshrine the relics of Sakyamuni and the gold and bronze Buddha statues presented by the King of Thailand. Compared to some traditional temples, the architecture is very modern. Nichitai Temple is the only temple in Japan that does not belong to any religious sect. It is managed by the highest among the existing 19 sects in turn, changing to a sect every three years. The relic of Sakyamuni is enshrined in the granite stupa, and it is not easy to open to visit. There is a war monument next to the temple, which was built for the war of aggression against China. There are few tourists here, even on holidays.

Monthly market in temple in Nagoya city

They have market on 21th every month. Lots of food carts on side of street from the kakuozan subway station. Try little bit each as one portion is small and cheap!
