The Genghis Khan Square, formerly known as Sukhbaatar Square, was officially renamed in July 2013. Genghis Khan Square is located in the center of Ulaanbaatar. The National Palace in the north is the seat of the Mongolian President, Government and Parliament. It has a magnificent and large statue of Genghis Khan. The center of Genghis Khan Square has a statue of Mongolian national leader Sukhbaatar riding on horseback.
A fantastic place to stroll around, hang around and see locals on their daily lives in Ulaan. Windy place and you can enjoy the huge area including a garden upfront the square. We enjoyed taking Photos of the great Khans on their majestic seats. This place gave us a glimpse of the power of the Mongolian empire back in the 11th century. Truly magnificent place!
Welcome to MongoliaWE HAVE GREAT HISTORY...Have a good Trip .com
[Chinggis Khaan Square], formerly known as Sukhbato Square, was officially renamed in July 2013. The square is located in the centre of Ulaanbaatar. To the north, the National Palace is the seat of the President, the Government and the Parliament of Mongolia. At the entrance, there is a statue of Genghis Khan with a mighty bank. The basement of the National Palace is the Mongolian National History Museum, which is sometimes open to tourists. In the center of the square is a statue of Sukhbato, the independent leader of the Mongolian nation, riding on horseback.
This is the largest square in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. The center of the square is a sculpture up to 22 meters high. Gold foil decorative pillars have silver foil hollow Baiyun grassland totem pattern, the top is Genghis Khan's whip shape, feeling and Handan Hufu riding sculpture is somewhat similar. There are also sculptures of Genghis Khan and his famous generals in the square. For some reason, the ratio of man to horse seems to be somewhat out of balance. The horse seems too small. Maybe it is to show the art of characters more broadly? An artist's mind must be somewhat different from that of ordinary people...
This where you start the Mongolian adventure. Great with Great Khaan Chinggis stay in Ulaanbaatar a day or two then head somewhere to your next destination in this vast nomadic steppe.
the center of UB city. you can visit to our great king statue and take a look around. it's close to theaters as well. Shangrila, blue sky hotels are so close from there.
This square is located in the center of Ulaanbaatar, less than 10 minutes from the Blue Sky Hotel where we collapsed. After dinner the day before yesterday, my friends and I walked in the sunset and there were 34 teenage boys skating happily. The square is open without any tickets. Against the background of blue sky and white clouds, people feel a thick history.
Genghis Khan Square is the heart of the Ulaanbaatar city. It's the historical place that includes past and future.
Genghis Khan Square in Mongolia is like Tiananmen Square in Chinese eyes. But the area and scale of construction are far from comparable. The main buildings are the National Palace and the Sukhbaatar Monument, which is the most prosperous place in Ulaanbaatar. The National Palace is the office of Mongolian government organs. Square is also a place for welcoming visiting foreign leaders. It's worth seeing.
Landmark of Ulan Bator, downtown. It's very close to the major hotels in the shopping mall. It takes less than ten minutes to take a picture. The statue of Genghis Khan is in the middle of the building where the President and government officials work.
