Ostankino is a museum situated on the grounds of the Ostankino Estate. The museum consists of the main 18th century wooden palace, a 17th century Trinity church, and fragments of the old Ostankino park. The buildings that make up the museum originally belonged to the Russian noble family of Sheremetevs. The old wooden palace is the largest wooden structure in Moscow and was built in the neoclassical style. Ostankino also contains many interesting collections that include a large collection of European gilt furniture from the 18th and 19th centuries, rare Chinese and Japanese ceramics, and an impressive collection of fans.
